Would have been easier and cheaper to push it back in and remove it at the shop. We had to push ours back in with a skid steer when the retraction cables broke. And it usually takes a crane to fix a crane, but it’s still cheaper than replacing the fly section.
Unless you are scrapping it out……
Message me the link on the next video. And lmk when you need more parts
@@milehighsquarebodymilehigh4907 absolutely! I’m currently looking for a short bed just the bed itself
That's my burb now 💪🤘
That thing is going to be sick!
What type steering axle is needed?
Why not paint that bed before setting the welder on, ?
Well that is a stubby Pete. Man check out that neon green steering wheel. That's some beautiful countryside where you live.Think I would have done a bolt in cross member but otherwise a good job. A frame that short you don't want it too stiff cause it needs to flex some. Long frames you don't have that problem. " She's driving straight" that's always a good thing...
Frames are hardened steel and should never be welded like this. There is a proper way to do it and this is not it!
Hey man I have a gmc vandurA skoolie I’m working on. What lift and 4x4 conversion did you use? Yours looks sick
@@robertbrown8802 I just used a rough country 6 inch lift for a 70 through 80 Chevy. You need to measure your rear springs eyebolt to eyebolt. Some have the 56 inch springs
بقي عندو بيضتين😂😂😂
Bad ass!
i bet you learned a lot on this. if you didnt know, every manufacture has a weld procedure publication for their frames. the way it should be cut, the process of welding, what filler material, inside liner and mechanical backups. the more i learn, the more i realized i how much i didnt know.
Love your vids! JC iv learned a ton from them.
I believe the bobtail proportioning valve in the brake system has to be re plumbed or removed also.
🎶Now your just showin off 🎶
That’s awesome
How much ya gonna spend to get it up and running?
I got it running. I put a new battery had to pull the steering wheel for a key in Tumblr. And put some fresh gas in it man and she fired up. I got lucky.
I got mine for 200 bucks
Maddox is my name
@@poooooooopoooooohead3916 it’s my son’s name also
You can’t beat them old power strokes not much on the new ones since they quit using international motors nice truck
As far as air bags as long if you haul 15 to 19 ton it will be fine a bunch of my buddies in South Carolina have air bags they haul asphalt and gravel they don’t have any trouble yeah bags will pop but I have had springs break too it all how you treat them and they all break sometime but with bags they ride 10 times better.
I had a kw we turned into a dump truck I hauled coal avg about 35 ton a trip it was a little more limber it was double frame but wasn’t designed to haul that kind of weight but I loved that truck best riding coal truck I ever had if your just gonna haul 18 to 20 I think it will be good they ride a lot better than a truck that has a heavy frame
Proving we will watch anything!😂😊
I have a 1987 Chevy Silverado R 10 what are they worth ? I still drive the truck daily paint light blue but in rough shake 2 years on tires interior is rough 2wd
How much you want for it?
I have it on marketplace for $2800. Has the title located in Berthoud, Colorado
That looks much higher than i thought it was 😅
That is a Great rolling square body❤❤❤❤ I would Love to have another one
Whats the story with dual shield, Why deal with slag when welding in a shop, its seams more popular these days & i think I'm probably missing something , can you educate me please
We believe it’s a stronger weld. When you weld structural steel Typically use 7018 stick welding or dual shield. All the vertical welding is uphill with dual shield, getting way more penetration than hardwire. I’m sure this project could’ve been done with hardwire. We just wanted to soak it in.
Looks stout!…nothing wrong with that.
The Airglide 8 bag system is fine for dump trucks, you just need to run dual leveling valves on left and right to isolate the sides from each other then they run fantastic and don't lean super crazy
Good job
Perfect Job fellows and that comes from a metal fabricator.
Dump truck guys want their equipment to be different from road trucks so badly.. 😅 Unless you spend all day off road in undeveloped conditions you don’t need spring suspensions and big heavy rear ends with lockers. Most dump truck work is nothing more than road work.. Hard core dump truck guys have rocks in their heads 😂
You don’t need to worry aboot ramps
The rears are to lite need 58 rears 50 years in the excavation business I know this one bucket of gravel and it's over loaded dangerous
I've been driving end dumps for over 30 yrs , heaviest rears I ever drove were 46's . I'm seeing more and more trucks set up like this one , seeing a lot of new factory dumps on air ride also .
Hi, do you only put 1 bolt in the plates
Yes sir, one an done
Cool
Damn bro these semi videos getting VIEWS!
***liiiiiiiiike a glove***
If you pull the driveline, making sure it's out of gear isn't too important. lol
Half cab...😂
All in the pursuit of attention 😂
where did you get the rear blocks and add a leaf
@@airell47 I’m pretty sure I got everything from rough country. It’s been a couple years so I don’t quite remember.
Dumass add to th back don’t cut in in the middle
Air ride, 38,000 rears, 12,000 steering, single frame, all the wrong stuff. You end up with a 10 wheeler that can only gross 50,000 with a sucky air ride suspension under it.
It’s called a truck and dog in Australia mate
Dump trucks need walking beam suspension. Air ride rolls and gets stuck.
2:24 absolutely wrong truck specs for dump applications good luck on single frame. Not for me
Whoops sliced too much off! LOL
Road tractors make terrible dump trucks. 12k front axle and 8bag KW rear suspension is not ideal. I drove an 88 Western Star that was converted from a tractor to dump truck. It had 38 k Mack camel back rears with the stock front axle. It leaned and rocked bad!
Better be swapping that front axle.
