I had no idea this existed! Wow, this would have been a great follow up. I wore out Honor back in the day. Such a different sound than just about anything else at that time in the 80s, in a good way. As a member of a power pop band in Athens in the Grunge era, I can relate lol.

Well, Gary is in South Carolina, still playing music. Steve is in Chicago and Terry Hawkins is also in Illinois. Henry Heidtmann is in North Carolina. Maybe we can convince them to get together and play again!

I worked at all these airshows as RAMP RATS airshow ground security services and aircraft grounds marshaling and crowd control throughout the entire events

I was driving to Indianapolis in 1994 and making good time (mostly because I didn't realize that there was a time change involved, heading from East TN) and I saw a sign on the Interstate that said something like "Airport next exit" and so I drove over there not knowing anything about Charles Osborne or what might be there. First thing I saw was the Corsair under restoration, and then saw Hurry Home Honey and Big Ass Bird II. I was in disbelief and stopped to see what I could see. There were a bunch of F-86's in the hangar (I think they were ex-Bolivian) and a guy near the Corsair told me about the upcoming show. I went in '94 and '95 and they remain the best I ever saw.

I have a bunch, for sure. Will be adding lots more in a month and a half when I get back from AirVenture in Oshkosh.

I was not aware of his death until several years after he was lost. He flew hard, for sure!

They sure don't make it easy. The days of purpose-built observation decks and plane-spotting areas at airports seem to be long over. I pulled over on Wright's Ferry Road and waited for the -135 to come over a few times. I had my scanner and my phone out but I always get a little nervous about having the scanner going. A few years ago a local officer stopped me while I was parked shooting arrivals from Snodderly Street (other end of the runways at TYS). I had a bag chair and my scanner and had been sitting there for over an hour. He asked for ID and then questioned me about the scanner and wondered why I "needed" to hear what was going on. I was on public property on a barely-used road, but he certainly made me think about what I "appeared" to be doing. The scanner stays in a pocket when possible now.

Hey Ted! I saw your Think Jet uploads and got excited to hear new things and then remembered that I had these two discs. You had mentioned that live Think Jet recordings were pretty rare, and I thought “I bet most folks who heard that WREK set heard it live and then maybe never again.” Anyway, thanks for the reminder and all your shares!
