    There's _many_ technical reasons why your business email could be going to junk too. Especially in the past 10 years. As a web developer, we keep having to patch our client's systems with fixes to ensure their emails stay out of automatic Junk filters. Lots of businesses don't have Service Level Agreements with their developers to keep up regular technical support on their websites/domains to prevent this, thus a lot can get missed. Which is why the golden advice is: If you're expecting an email, check your Junk. If you're sending an email, tell _them_ to check their Junk with some other system (a popup on the site, SMS, IM, etc).

    Great discussion and Richard is a great guy to work with. Definitely worth working with him if you want to improve how your organisation usage of your tech stack and IT solutions. I have worked for business that have brought tools or migration to M365 tools and the business won’t learn how to use it correctly and then it just gathers dust. It not just recruitment, its most business.

    There is a lot of stuff in here to unpack for recruitment agencies I used to work for. call times, numbers game, no skills, just noise and "fake sound of progress". Definitely agree that Marketing is bringing people to you. One area i disagree - is the methodology of how your sell your business, YES the market has been groomed to be thinking one way, but fighting against that tied is problem, it will change one day if we all resonate the same time, but as long as joe blogs recruitment in the back streets of Dudley is filling roles at 8% and large PSLs are controlling the market with the lowest bid - contingency and low fees will be the majority of work. Really good podcast this, first podcast for a while i have listened to 2 times, and will again soon!

    Facinating chat here, with regards to the sales part of the conversation. We forget the part of sales that no one wants to talk about, and that is sales is normally done in a recruitment bisiness by the least qualified and experienced person - and that hang up drags on for years in a recrutiers career. Even experienced recruiters struggle with sales, because of that. And some people can angle that at bad training, Jeremy's dog rabbit analogy scratches the surface a little there. Because finding good peole to work for you is hard, we hire what we see as great sales people, when we last did it, and not realise that sales today isnt the same as 2018 or 2009, or 1998. in the manufacturing industry, a lot of companies spend millions in inbound leads for sales people to use for 80% of their role, and 20% is identifying companeis that can work with, but they have the strenght then of past work from that 80%. For some reason, the recrutiment industy as a whole, struggles with the business being the BDM, and the consultant - actually consulting.

    I got my SEO on my website to ranking 1st page - like Sean says via blogs and jobs worked on for Sales engineers, and page 3 for Engineering as it a tougher market. its defo achievable for niches.
