So far I’m not the biggest fan, I think with the amount of time they’ve been working on it that it’s a bit lazy with how little is different on it to the mt09. Also not a fan of the looks I think the rear section of the bike looks really odd and the winglets I’m not a fan of at all, also disappointing the mt09/xsr900 swingarm was used. It may grow on me once seeing it in public but 100% wouldn’t be a bike I’d get I’d a million times over prefer an R1

@Dorset.Motorcycles hm I do get your points. But they changed lots of thinks from the Mt09 no? The only real similar thing is the motor itself. What do you mean with "the same swingarm as the Mt09/xsr900"? The Xsr has a different swingarm than the Mt09 ( I think it was the longer version from the tracer 9). And the R9 has a different swingarm than both of the Xsr and Mt09. Correct me if I'm mistaken but that's what I read on the official Yamaha website 😅 Anyway I like your videos man keep it up, im currently in for getting a xsr 900

@ yeah you’re probably correct with the swingarm in terms of the length of it, but the looks and actual structure of the swing arm is the same, they’ve just put fairings on an mt09 in my eyes I would’ve liked them to have done more to the motor to make it more supersports like but I’m sure either way it’ll be a great bike to ride! @@Dorset.Motorcycles yeah I wish they had given the motor more HP. But they do have a different frame than the Mt09 and the forks and brakes etc are all different so as far as I know only the motor concept is the same. I'm very intrigued to test the R9 once it's available. I had a Yamaha R7 and that truly was an MT07 with fairings. But sadly it was too small for me in the long run

They’re going to be stopping making the xsr700 soon due to poor sales 😢

Yeah I’ve noticed the seat gets a little sore after a long journey, will definitely have to invest in the comfort seat sometime

@@Dorset.Motorcycles but it already has a $300 Yamaha comfort seat 😅. Imagine how bad is the regular 'uncomfortable' one

@@unknownmonkey8661this is the standard seat on mine, Yamaha seem to make the standard seats hard so you have to pay for the comfort seat add on

IMO I would just get a custom xsr700 seat hand made from a company called KelpiCustoms. Check them out, you might really like their stuff.

Thanks for watching! My xsr700 is sadly going tomorrow as I am replacing it, it’s honestly a hard question as the xsr700 is so much fun around town and slower roads but the xsr900 is just another level on the more open roads! If I could only have one would be the xsr900 I think though

@@Dorset.Motorcycles ty for the response! I'd use the XSR700 for going to work and maybe a fun little detour going home after work, so I think it would be perfect for that. But many ppl told me that it would make more sense getting a different kind of bike (like an adventure bike, or sports bike) as a second bike. But I'll see what I do next season :)

@@Pfannkuchenkanone I’m GSA1250 owner and just 2 days ago ordered XSR 700 as second bike 😊 heard that 700 will be erased from Yamaha range in 2025 😢

@@lukeluke9319 Hi! For you it definitely makes more sense to get a XSR700, since it's so different compared to your adventure bike. Very nice choice! 🙌🏼 Oh no that's not great news😞 maybe the discontinuation of the 700 will leave me no option but to buy one 😆🤷🏼‍♂️... We'll see

@@Dorset.Motorcycles the 900 is a blast and probably one of the most balance between fun and handling out there. I just feel the CP2 is more fun where it matters on the low end of speeding where the Cp3 is only fun when you’re really pushing it lol

Yeah the xsr700 has a funky position for the dash, you had modify it and relocate it to the middle but I don’t mind it. I have a full akrapovic race system, thanks for watching!

The exhaust is for an mt09, to install you just have to flip the exhaust hanger and attach where the heel guard usually is

@@Dorset.Motorcycles how long have you had it on ? I’ve got the exact same exhaust but seems to be sucking too much air. Load of power every now and then …not ideal so have booked it into Yamaha crescent

@@tristanirvine9288 I’ve only have in a couple of months, not properly riding it yet as waiting on upgrading my a2 so maybe as only some small rides I haven’t noticed
