Delicious Homemade Neapolitan Pizza Recipe
Please be sure to like this video and subscribe if you enjoyed the recipe! Let me know down in the comments what recipes you may want to see me do next time! Thank you for watching!
Ingredients
4 ½ cups Bread Flour
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. instant dry yeast
¼ c. olive oil
1 ¾ cups water
Corn meal for dusting pan.
1. In medium 8 qt bowl place all dry ingredients. Add water and olive oil and mix well with spoon
or bowl scraper until flour is completely incorporated. Dough should be soft and tacky. Let rest
½ hour. Roll dough out on a floured surface and begin to knead until dough holds shape and
becomes soft and smooth about 10 minutes. Dough will still be slightly tacky. If too tacky add
olive oil to hands and surface, try to avoid adding to much flour as dough will get to dry. Place
in an oiled bowl big enough for dough to triple in size. Place in refrigerator about six hours or
overnight.
2. Remove dough from refrigerator two hours prior to shaping, this step brings dough to room
temp.
3. Preheat oven to hottest temp 500-550 degrees
4. Use pizza stone or inverted sheet pan to use as a flat surface.
5. Divide dough into two equal balls and begin creating evenly round shaped balls. Slightly flatten
and let rest another half hour. Pull dough with knuckles and back of hands until desired shape
and thickness is achieved.
6. Place on a peel or cookie sheet pan with no lip that has been dusted with cornmeal so pizza slide
into oven freely.
7. Add favorite toppings and bake in very hot oven until golden on edge or desired doneness.
8. Use peel or cookie sheet to remove pizza. Enjoy.

Hi Angelo, I have a question. What size pans are you using?
Hello Angela, great video and very well explained. Would it be possible if you could break down your recipe to make two loaves of sweet bread or better yet if you could do a follow up video of making two loaves of sweet bread? thanks again for your hard work
Massa Souvada -Portugal
I loved the video. The critics down below are extremily unfair as everything worked so well from beggining til the end. Thank you very much. I am Brazilian portuguese speaking and I enjoy portuguese recipies . 😊
Unusual method,I have never seen but I’ll be trying it. I imagine this would be great for cinnamon role, anise bread Ect, can’t wait to try. A pleasure to watch
The ingredients you use in the video is not the same amounts that are typed below
Thank You for this wonderful sweet bread recipe. My folks came by ship from Azores to RI then train out to Calif. Hard working families who all did well without handouts. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
😅Beautiful
THIS IS MY FAVORITE BRED EVER. SALUDOS
Just looking at the final loaves I am thinking of my grandmothers bread. Tasty and delicious. Great video. Thank you for your demonstration.
I add a bit of vanilla to my Portuguese sweet bread. It just enhances the sweet taste even more.
Very nice. Thanks for the video.
Oh my goodness I wish I watch my mom make Portuguese sweet bread 🍞
Thank you so much for your recipe and your easy to follow instructions. This was my first time making masa. My mom made masa all the time and we felt bad because it was to make masa. I made this for my first time and my family said this was the best masa they ever had. They couldn’t believe this was my first time making it. So thank you!
Do you have a recipe for 1 loaf? Thank you!
Great recipe ❤
What is the butter equal to? I looked up on the internet and it said 1 bar was 1 cup, so i used 3 cups but the batter was to loose never thicken up, I even add more flour yeast was great bubbling. At the end the sweet bread was more like sweet bread cake was delicious, but not sweet bread. Any idea where I went wrong, i wrote down the recipe & had the vedio on while I was preparing it. I belive there was to much liquid.
This is great! My mom used to make this but back in the day we didn’t have an oven that would stay on “warm” lol but she used the same bowl as you! The measurements are a little different but I’m going to try your way Monday 😊 thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing Angelo! My husband is portuguese and I fell in love with Portugal and the food! This is my first attempt at sweet bread. I followed your video to a T and they turned beautiful 😍 and delicious! I'm a visual learner so you doing a video was the best thing ever. I hope Easter Sunday I can see my mother in law smile (as she use to make this before I met my husband but unfortunately she can't physically do it anymore.) God bless you at this Easter! ✝️
❤❤
Tried your recipe for the first time it was delicious exactly the way I like it. Will definitely be making it again. Thanks for posting this video it was easy to follow and very well explained.
Thank you for an authentic Masa Recipe like my moms. One thing your instructions that are written out doesn’t match your video. You instructions says to egg wash for the second rise then egg wash again and bake. Doesn’t match the video
Hi Angelo! I have a question on your video you say use 3 table spoons of active dry yeast! But on your direction you say 4 table spoons idk which to add?
Just like my grandmother used to make. I don't know if she used the lard, I was just a little kid back then standing on a chair, as my grandmother mixed her ingredients for the sweet bread. I would eagerly wait till the bowl was empty to eat the little bits of raw dough with my fingers, LOL.😅 My grandmother always saved a little tiny bit of raw dough that she knew I loved to eat. Her kitchen table was filled with a variety of sweetbreads she would make for the family and a few friends. I remember the little breads that looked like turtles. Those were for the kids, me and my cousins! And what a wonderful aroma from the fresh baked breads that filled the house, just thinking about it brings a smile to my face and a sense of joy to my heart. 😊 This was like a stroll down memory lane for me! My grandmother Rosa was from San Miguel Portugal, such a beautiful island!😊
Pao doce. Azorean originated in San Miquel.
Is it sovada or souvada? Now I am confused.
Holly molly i never going to eat French sweet bread for breakfastat the restaurant not more that bread is so Unhealthy way to much sugar way to much butter 😢😢
Also, where can I purchase the pans you bake the sweet bread in? Thanks.
Wonderful bread! Angelo, can you break down the recipe to make 2 pans instead of 6? Thank you.
Yes you can 😃
When you say a block of butter how many cups is a block of butter.
Hello I did the massa It became dry could you help me find out why the reason and what should I do next time
In Portuguese I I can tell you you do a good job
Só foi pena não ter posto a mão na massa. O português amassa à mão. 🙂
Loved this recepi will defenitly try it
Wow that is a good amount of sweet bread. I make less than half of this. Yummy
I just want to take the time to thank you Angelo. I am a first generation portuguese living in Canada. I have been using your recipe consecutively for every Easter and Christmas, it never fails! My first time making it I was only 20 years old. I will be using your method for life! Everyone loves it, believe it or not it’s better than my avo’s😂😅 Thank you for helping me keep my heritage strong in my family ❤️ all the best, happy Easter
Wonderful recipe. Thank you Angelo. It’s the second time I’ve made this recipe following your instructions. Perfect each time. Happy Easter!!
Nice video. I have made seeet bread for years and it’s nice to see other methods. I am just wondering why the three added egg yolks? Thankyou.
Good baker 👍👍👍
Could you please do a video on how you make malasadas and classic Portuguese buns? Grew up on those in the 1980s, and would love to know your process. So many people have recipes out there but I can tell the taste and textures are not traditional Portuguese. You're the man Buddy! I'm making the sweet bread to enjoy on Christmas morning! Glad I found your channel!!
Johnson and Wales? Yes! I will sub. Looks great.
Sorry.... Had to stop the video to comment. Please..... Never use hot tap water for cooking or drinking. Heat the cold. Some old water service...pipes might contain lead. If that is the case then the hot tap water may contain lead. Cold water heated is safer. Who doesn't have a microwave?
Hahaha I beg your pardon? Tap water in Portugal is very clean just so you know, so actually using it to cook or drink is not at all an issue. If you’re living in another country in which tap water is not that healthy to drink, then that’s something to think twice about before using it.
Are you in Rhode island? Don't have the accent though. Bread looks amazing! 😋
Oh, thank you so very much for this video. My Dad ALWAYS made it and I always took advantage of his bread. Now I wish I had watched him. His recipe called for sweetened condensed milk also, And I wonder if this made it sweeter? I LOVED his and can't duplicate it :( So I'm going to try yours. TY Sir, well done and you made it look so easy lol
Beautiful!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇵🇹😍
this the second time iv watched this and you make it look so easy follow the way you explain :) i know it more easter bread but im going to make it for Christmas
Would you have a smaller version of this recipe. This reminds me of my moms recipe
By far the best bread. Lovely. Thank you.
