Once you've seen this tuckpointing all other pointing looks horrific. How do you get the red mortar to match the brick colour so precisely? or are you staining the bricks to match the red mortar?

There's no way they can fix that or get it even close to the quality of the other hou.. Oh holy crap if I was that owner I would be bawling my eyes out with joy especially after what the other firm did. Worth every penny no matter the cost because it looks like a new house! Dude you guys are going to end up doing the whole street at this point and no wonder the owner wants the stonework fixed by you guys. I wouldn't let you leave either. Good job if I win the lotto I'm buying a shabby-fronted house just so I can hire you guys to fix it 👍

Hi Kevin I've just subscribed and find your work top end. I'm now retired but do occasionally pick up small jobs. One question Kevin, where do you get your grinding discs from for red rubbers and for taking off aged cement stains mainly on brick.Ive spent loads at screwfix and tool station and as I try to keep costs down as a one man band. Much appreciated Kevin for any advice..re malc

When these Victorian buildings have been restored, you can imagine what the street might have looked like when they were first built.

I used to get that with crack repairs picked up by the surveyor, quote and never hear anymore, dont bother now, ime sure they get my quote taken of the price of the house then just dont bother having the work done.

You are spot on charging £250. More than reasonable in this day and age. Especially as you have the work coming in. Makes sense you would do this for free in the past until your business reached a point where you didn't need to. My friend runs a swimming pool company. Last year very busy and he spoke about doing this very thing. This year has been very slow so the risk of charging for a quote is high. Also buy giving that quote aside from time you spend you also have the equal time that could be spent elsewhere which would likely be worth more than £250. You are also creating a quote that you would honor so it's important you are motivated to do it correctly. Lastly if a client can't afford the £250 quote it could be a warning sign about future payments.

You really don’t charge for estimates? I am moving away from free estimates. My thought process on that is, nobody works for free, so that means that the clients that hire us end up paying for the tire kickers and that doesn’t seem fair to me.

Personally I think the £250 is maybe a lot for just a quote. However I completely agree with the charge: its time and petrol spent. It just feels like it maybe shouldn't amount to £250? That's said: love your work. You do an amazing job. Shame you aren't in Manchester area, I would have hired you in the spot.

Great work again, that roof is spreading because of the weight of the tiles as they’re heavier than slate

INCREDIBLE QUALITY as always I think the reason that roof is bowing and the top courses of brickwork is being pushed out is the weight of those concrete tiles as previously they were slate regards Howard from Cyprus 🎉🎉🎉

I'd assume if they aren't prepared to pay £250 then they can't afford the house and the work required. I dont work in a trade, but if I did I would do the same. It will filter put the dreamers and time wasters.

You obviously work for perfection. Why don't you stop the rub down and repaint option. You would lose work but your mental health will benefit and you will keep your workforce smaller and happier. Great insight into a very well run business

Due to the high quality of your work, I can see you are in great demand. I can imagine that there are days when you have to juggle multiple tasks at once, which can be very stressful, especially if you're conscientious.

Nice work - but tuck pointing isn't normal on a house like that.

Completely understand the frustration from people not replying. We need to understand though, what a person needs to be earning to afford brickwork restoration, it’s thousands and so completely out of 90%+ people’s price range, they do not even know what to respond with. Many feel embarrassed even asking when they get the quote and it is eye watering for them
