Hi everyone!
Thank you for stopping by 😆. My name is Mikhail Naidoo and I am a addict... to fishing that is.
After spending many hours on TH-cam watching our fellow anglers I decided to make this channel to help enrich the content that we all have to watch. It will mainly follow me during my fishing adventures, featuring many others, but will also include some catch cooks, bait presentations, trace demo's and whatever else we addicts need to do to get a bite!

Fishing in Rough Seas at Port Edward - Big news revealed!
Almost mid way through the trip, I managed to get away, for a few hours on the beach. Unfortunately I knew the sea was only going to get worse as the day progressed. So I had to find some good water quickly to maximize the time I had. On my way I met some interesting locals fishing a very old school method.

Fishing Amanzimtoti for a Garrick / How to store Sardines for bait and Masala fry
มุมมอง 8K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
The morning started at Amanzimtoti to try for a garrick while I waited to hear off any sardine nettings along the coast. Before mid day a massive net was pulled around Illovo Beach so I quickly made my way there. #summer fishing #fishing Ushaka beach #fishing Durban's beachfront #fishing for sharks and rays #fishingsouthafrica #fishingforshad #shad #fishingintherain #fishing #tightlines #bluefi...

With favorable conditions, it was the ideal night to spend some time on the beach targeting the fish we love to catch during the hot summer months. It turned out to be a good night with every bait I threw out getting a decent enquiry. #summer fishing #fishing Ushaka beach #fishing Durban's beachfront #fishing for sharks and rays #fishingsouthafrica #fishingforshad #shad #fishingintherain #fishi...

During the hot summer months one of many anglers favorite target specie is the Giant Guitar Fish (White Spotted Wedgefish) or as we love to call them, "Sandies". Dropping Live Baits in DEEP WATER for BIG KOB in the Transkei
มุมมอง 22K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
On the last day of our trip to Coffee Bay. We decided to start the morning off fishing for Shad. However after a local lost a Big Kob the plans changed and my brother and I both put out live baits in search of the big fish that roam these waters.

Awe brother well come to the man's world. Girl or boy you guys going to be great parents. Congratulations from clentchara
congratulations on your 1st child, if boy he will follow in your footsteps as a fisherman, enjoy fatherhood/parenthood ,appreciate the updates on your channel, fishing on your own can be risky nowadays ,be alert always & take care, may God protect you always
Congratulations bro 🎉
Congratulations
Congratulations 🎉
Can't wait
Congrats bro🎉
awesome stuff bru...Did you have any issues with your gosa 20k overall bud? I see in your latest vids u back to your spinfisher
Thanks bru, no I didn't have any issues with it. I actually keep it as sort of a spare lol. The main reason why I chose the spinfisher is the spool pricing. I have 2 spare spools for it so until I have the same convenience with the gosa, I'll mainly be using the spinfisher
I have been waiting for a video ate snake park pier pls
I'll try this season bru, it's difficult fishing there because of how narrow the pier is though
that hake is king klip.
Thank you for that. Any tips on a different way to prepare it?
Isn’t that calanteen undersized?
@crispinswainstonharrison9042 do you mean Karanteen??
Your vrou is gona kick you for using metal spoon on her nonstick frying pan😂
😂😂good catch bru lol I don’t think she saw on the day but let’s see if she says anything when she watched the video 😂
Maybe do a camping session and also how to tie traces
Sounds like a plan and something I’d like to do, but safety is an issue in our country. What traces do you want to learn how to tie?
@@FishingSouthAfrica ive always loved fishing but im still learning maybe a video to help us beginners, a video about caranteen trace , grunter ground fish trace, how to tie a live bait trace step by step also how to join braid to mono how you care for your equipment after every trip to avoid damaging reels and rods. I live in phoenix and familiar with most of your fishing spots. maybe best times for fishing , simplest way to know where to cast to many complicated videos on youtube. maybe a catch and cook on the beach would also be entertaining. If you can teach us how to fish for crayfish would be great and where. Thanks bru
@Justin I've actually made a list of all the stuff you want to learn about. Hopefully this summer season I have a bit more time on my hands so I can get to making the videos you requested bru
Post more videos ,good job
Thanks bru. Have a look on the channel. This is actually an old video when I first started the channel, about 2 years ago
The main reason as to why she enjoyed the stumpnose better is because her husband caught it... She just doesn't want to mention it...
😂 I didn’t think of that but I’m definitely going to tell her👌🏼
Yes, please do, and IL be waiting for her reply to that... 🤣
She made an excuse by saying fresh fish is always better😂
These females always have a way with words bru... Lol... But as long as you know... 😉
Hey it's been a while. Great to see you catching something nice
Thanks bru, yeah time isn’t on my side these days to fish like I’m used to
I know that it's a year later but I need to tell you that are an extremely kind human being. I'd like to meet you and maybe have the opportunity to fish with you. Excellent content
Thank you bro, your words warm my heart and make me want to keep putting out content. Send me a mail at Mikhail.naidoo20v@ gmail.com and we can plan something 🙌🏼
@@FishingSouthAfricamorning brother. I'll be sure to do that. Don't stop being you. God bless
Can't argue with the professionals Bru. Hope you taking notes lol.
😂 that’s why I was speechless lol she did have a point in catching more fish than me on the day though😅
Dat feeling wen they get the sweets and get so excited it's priceless
It’s always humbling to do good things for the community there
Great videos, but we stopped giving sweets, the kids run on the road and 1 missed to get knocked down,, the community will hold you and extort you if that happens, id also not give fishing equipment, these locals become very problematic, rather pay for your gillie and that's That, very nice videos
Thank you bro, yeah we had an issue a few years ago while leaving mbolompo point. One of the kids decided to run behind the van so close up a hill that if I stalled, I would have rolled back onto him. He refused to listen until I had to say a few choice words. I agree with you about the tackle as well. A gillie broke my dads rod while fishing and we pay so much for tackle that it isn’t worth it, rather just get them to help and leave it at that
Top video after a long wait for a new video 🎉😊
Yeah bru, time hasn’t been on my side to fish or for editing
A true Indian loved it
Haha thank you 🙌🏼
Enjoyed the catch cook keep trying for the garrick there some proper 1s around tried ure recipe out for the Sards was tops
Time is the issue bro, but I’m hoping I get atleast 1 before the season ends
Summer is coming can't wait for the non Ed videos
It seems like it’s started bru, a few fish came out at Ushaka this week and the blue rays have been around for awhile
Ey bru. My spot for big winter kob was always Mtwalume. Im obviously not nine -tu-tu on what it's like now but early morning Blacktail and shad at the mouth and evenings for those big Kob, caught on Nondi's and them bottoms with sard and prawns for monster stumpies, honeycomb skate and sand-sharks
I've only fished that area a few times bru, I think we only caught karo's from the rock and a few shad. How was the safety when you used to fish there?
@@FishingSouthAfrica We used to fish the evening/early early tide shifts so always in the dark to start. We paid the Induna to keep an eye on the car. Half immediately and half after, including a few fish. We were never accosted or had any break ins.
That’s actually cheap considering you’re fishing a good spot. The worst thing is come back after a good session and find your car broken into or worse not there at all
Bring and come, run and come...Dude, I miss you Durban ou's! Nice video man! New sub!
Haha glad you enjoyed it bru, thanks for subscribing!
Awesome content bro really enjoying it 🎉 Sell me a rod and reel 🤞🏼
Thanks bru... unfortunately I don't have anything for sale currently. What are you looking to buy?
Howsit boeta...what reel are you using and what braid
It's a spinfisher 8500 and I have 50lb grinder dropzone on it
Thsnks bro
Any time bro
Lekker grunted ❤
Yeah the uncle did really well that day
I was down at lugz about a month ago and yoh the guys there are so unfriendly and rude
Howzit Joash, personally I've never had that experience at lugs, but definitely elsewhere many locals sometimes feel like they own the spot and only their crew are allowed to fish there, so I can relate.
Bro I love your content as a new fisherman, I'm still learning the ropes and your videos are very helpful, if possible please can I come on a fishing sess with you guys
I'm glad you're enjoying it bro. I don't know everything and there alot of better anglers out there but I try to share the knowledge that I do have. Send me a mail on Mikhail.Naidoo20v@gmail.com
Awe top stuff bru.. cant wait to see you getting the Garricks, cant wait to get back to Durban after this shutdown and do some fishing👊
Shot bru, you probably won't believe it but I haven't got one yet😂I think I've only slid one bait out for the season to be fair, just not finding the time to go fishing as much anymore. When are you going to be back in durbz?
Great Video.
Thank you bro!🙌
Great stuff your tips and bait demos work really well I experienced it first hand .was awesome meeting you on the beach as well.
Howzit brother, thank you for the kind words, when did we meet on the beach?
@@FishingSouthAfrica i think it was 2nd week in June one Saturday when fishing frenzy lost that one Garrick and one came out aswell
Shot bru, yeah on the rocks at Inyoni, was great meeting you bru, glad my hook placement helped you out
Great stuff as usual bru...❤❤❤❤Just outta curiosity which of these is edible bro..honestly I forgot plus I neva knew sum similar in facial appearance grows so large...We wer advised to eat a smaller type of a sandy by few people back in the day and believe you me It was amazing ..outside fire too..All depends how you slice or cube them you'll neva believe wat you eating cos perfectly inbetween the taste of a crayfish and prawn bro❤❤❤❤that's why I said depending of how one slices its body...I still recall my late mum moaned with we two brus not to bring that weird creature to cook inside her kitchen😮😢😅😂😂😂❤❤❤❤but the taste even left neighbors licking ones fingers..lucky no one saw its head similar to a smashed frog head in appearance 😮😅😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
😂😂😂I remember this story bru, you've told me once before in the comments but always good to hear it again😂. I think if it really comes down to it most of the stingrays and sharks should be edible, just the fact of them being sport fish comes into play and they are always released. If you watch some of the guys in the USA, they eat sharks and stingrays sometimes, I've always wanted to try it just waiting for the right opportunity. Personally though I would not kill one of these (sandshark/ guitarfish/ white spotted wedgefish) , we just enjoy targeting them too much, but there is the smaller version and I think thats the one you've probable eaten in the past. We call them lesser sandsharks, they grow to about 5kgs and look identical to the bigger ones in terms of the shape and frog head appearance😂
It's been a minute.... lol, glad to have you guys back! ❤
Thank you bru, just been incredibly busy but I try to put out vids whenever I can
Well done guys.
Thank you bru
Well done to all the anglers, Well done to Darren on that 2m job......💪 Thanks, alot Bru. I wanted to know your length from hook to stopper knot, looks like about 40-45cm ? 👍
Shot bru, it should be around there, I'm actually at work now or I would have measured it for you. I'm pretty sure it could be closer to 30cm though. Depending where you fishing the slight difference should not have a big impact on bites as I know a few guys who fish with floats in there baits because of how all flatfish have eyes on top of their heads
Shot Bru. You can measure it and reply here when you have time. I also heard about the floating the bait for flatfish, but I see you do well without float.
No stress... I'm not sure when I'll be able to measure it properly and I don't want you to wait another season lol but basically it should be between 30 and 40cm
When was this video filmed ?
I while ago bud, I would say around Feb
Thanks Bro
No problem brother
Bro I’ve been addicted to your videos and I love how you share your knowledge 🔥
Thank you bro, I don't know everything but I try to share what I can.
Howzit quick question what length rod do you use for skidding live baits ? Enjoy the contend really awesome to see nice fish in our home town
I use a 14ft rod. The general guide is that the longer the rod = the easier it will be to slide the bait. However off high beaches or rocks a 12ft or 13ft will work but will not be as easy as a longer rod.
@@FishingSouthAfrica thank you very much
Sorry for all the Question how are you getting your live bait from the beach , been trying to work it out. Like the mozzies how are you catching them from the beach or do you have a mate who’s going out to sea on days ? Thank you for the hard work really enjoy watching and thanks for help
No problem bud, I don't mind answering the questions. In terms of the mozzies, we get them ourselves, it's hard work though. We normally go to snake park pier around 1 or 2 in the morning to fish for them and then head to our spot after getting enough bait. But I've been hearing recently that snake park pier is now closed to fishing so I'm not sure how we are going to continue
@@FishingSouthAfrica sadly I’m staying away from Durban fished blue lagoon the other day and they broke into the car , not worth the hassle rather fish up north , but thank you for all the help
Great catches! look forward to seeing more
Thank you, I just subscribed to your channel as well! I look forward to seeing it grow
@@FishingSouthAfrica Thanks so much!
No problem bud
Hozit bro how do i get mozies
I use a sabiki trace and I get them off snake park pier
