How to Care Wax Begonias OR Cocktail Whiskey Begonia , Wax Begonias Propagation in Water.
Hi guys,
Welcome to my channel Experimental Gardening, today’s video is about Wax Begonias OR Cocktail Whiskey Begonias.
These begonias come in White, Red and Pink colors and have very beautiful leaves colors.
They need 6 hours sunlight daily but they can’t tolerate very hot temperatures .
Water them when one inch soil is dry, don’t overwater them because it kills them.
You can easily propagate begonias by taking some cuttings and putting in a glass of water, once you see enough roots then transplant in pots or ground.
I hope you liked the video and you will also grow wax begonias.
Thank you guys for watching the video.

Yes, they are really beautiful and they last whole summer.
top stuff!
Thanks for watching, yes , I love this plant, In March will try to do air layering.
A very useful video. I LOVE hydrangeas. Question???? In this video, in the month of November, when the plants turn brown, should I prune them or just leave the plants like that all winter?
Thanks, the old branches protect the plant from cold weather just like blanket, so it is a good idea when the temperature starts between 35 to 40 degree Fahrenheit you can prune them , add fertilizer and water.
@@ExperimentalGardening Thanks!!! Will do just that!
Nice informative video thanks ✌️✌️
Thanks, yes they are beautiful and perennial plants, so enjoy their blooms every year.
Nice shade of yellow, lovely plant
Thanks, yes they are really beautiful.
Can i put it in an airtight polythene bag instead of ice box sir?
No, polythene bag can not protect cold temperature, just wrap in newspaper and put in a carton instead of ice box that will work also.
Interesting to see the results
Thanks, I will grow more next year.
Thanks for the growing tips. Your videos are always interesting and helpful. I'm a visual learner, so I must be able to see how you do it first. Your channel provides a clear view and understanding and it's easy to follow. This I will try because I love cow horns peppers. THANKS!!!

Thank you very much sir for replying my questions.I still have one more question. Can i save all varieties of gerbera this way? I live in Mizoram ,India subtropical land never too cold but it is beneficial anyway.Your technique of preserving gerbera is very good and i think it will also be safe from diseases too .Mine are multiple layered petals and hybrid beautiful ones ones.
Yes you can save all varieties of gerbera daisies in the same way but you are in tropical region which is not so cold do you still want to save them then save them, try to save some of them and leave some as it is outdoors and see which is best for you.
What can i use as a substitution for ice box?can i use any air tight box too?
Thanks for watching the video, you can use air tight box also but first put in a carton as insulation then put in airtight box.
Do they survive winter by preserving this way or do they rot during long winter??
Thanks again, if you will first dry them before storing, they will not rot. They can survive but depends how cold your climate is , normally-5 to -8 degrees centigrade they can survive, if more cold then bring indoor.
This was a very helpful and informative video. I didn't realize that you could just put them in water for the winter. This makes it rather easy until next spring. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching the video, you know that gardeners love their plants and they want to save their plants whatever best ways to save them .
Nice video sir 🌿🌿🌿👏👏
Thanks for watching the video, yes you can save most of the plants in winter like this.
They look fabulous, I'll have to check out this variety here in uk
Thanks, yes they are really beautiful.
Hi, great channel! I am also growing Pomegranate from seed as well but in a large container. It is about 7 years old and 4-5 feet tall but it has not given fruit yet. Just wondering how many more years it will take for it to fruit? it is in full sun (It is brought indoors in the winter > ZONE 7), w/ appropriate compost. i think the pH is also a big factor for which I have to monitor... hmmm.... thanks in advance!
Thanks for watching the video, first, pomegranate plant needs some chill hours which prepares them to gather the energy for blooming and fruiting in spring ( at least 200 to 400 ) , secondly this plant zone is 8+, so some varieties can survive and some can’t survive outside. In my opinion you should leave them outside for couple of weeks ,maybe whole November and December then bring indoors, in this way they will complete the chill hours and may start fruiting.
This was a very interesting and helpful video. I'm always learning something new and useful on this channel. I'm going to give this a try. Thanks!!!
Thanks for appreciating, I do experiments to find out which is best method then I apply that method in future.
What is the best time for dividing GERBERA??
Thanks for watching the video, the best time is in spring because they will have enough time to establish their roots.

Which country do you live in? I live in Australia. Cause i want to figure the growing season, instead of the growing month.
Thanks for watching the video, in Australia, plant the tulip bulbs in Autumn, they will flower in late spring or early summer.
Don't store any rotting or bad leaves. Also, remove any on your monthly check.
Thank you, good advice, sure I will check on monthly basis and will remove any bad leaves if found .thanks again I appreciate your advice.
Nice advice on overwintering, great headstart!

Awesome informative video sir 🌿🌿✌️
Thanks, yes you can save your plants from frost.
Does this type of begonias have bulb or not if not than pls tell me how to care or prepare for next season
They don’t have bulbs , there are two ways to save them, take some cuttings and put in water or in small pots with soil, keep indoors where temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit they will survive at least till next season.
Nice video !
Thanks, yes you can overwinter canna lilies and plant them in next season.
