Watching here from Honduras knowing what was about to happen to my wife who was home by herself and blessed by our neighbors who would supported her during these times, with frantic in her voice, no power or water. All I could muster was to make phone calls and send texts to our neighbors to tend to her assistance of help unknown to her she needed. I new the light of God would be shining during this time of darkness for God was watching over all of us and touching those in need through those who came to our doors with open hands of love. @Phill. This is why all those kids came and supported there community, once completing there tasks and returned home. They new there would be the light of the Lord shining through them no matter where they were, therefore they were never in darkness. This is what being a good Christian is all about, giving of ones self to those in need regardless of your need.

I'm fine with the gift of Prophecy - the problem is all the boneheads going around claiming to be prophets and apostles are a bunch of lying grifters - they are phonies - and a countless not entirely innocent but ignorant and gullible people are simply being fleeced including by people like Jack

Ouch! What happened to the biblical messages Sam Storms used to preach? Accusing a pastor of quenching the Spirit by spending a dreadful 30 minutes warning the flock against the false? Paul did it in Ephesis day and night with tears! It doesn't matter? In context, I treat prophecy with contempt by not testing all prophetic words and thereby quench the Spirit. Is it not possible that you quenched the Spirit by not testing Mike Bickle's prophetic claims like others who tested and found him false beginning with the weather prophecy and then many other false words. You even claimed you did test it and found it true. You gushed over him for so many years, not even one concern mentioned publicly. Now, after so much has been exposed, you still teach like this? I have not found the continue / cessation debate very helpful. The biblical admonition is to test and discern between the true and false, not continue or cease. You close by referencing the roundtable discussion. Do you remember how you used Mike Bickle to prove your position in the roundtable? Have you repented? So far, Mike has not, at least not publicly. Your endorsement of his prophetic ministry for so many years fits the definition of quenching the Spirit in the context of 1 Thessalonians 5 like a glove. Where was the testing? You liked Mike and failed to do it even once. Its not too late to do the right thing.

If you blaspheme the Holy Spirit Jesus said you cannot be forgiven. Chew on that Cessationists.

Look this problem only exists in a cessationist denomination. They are the ones who need to repent and turn from all 5 of your examples and more. We cannot beat the truth of the Spirit into them. That is one reason Jesus said Wide is the road wide is the gate leading to destruction and many travel there. Narrow is the road and narrow the gate that leads to eternal life and few will find it. I disagree with Sam on cessationists not knowing they are quenching the spirit [paraphrase] Ignorance is no excuse and no better than willful sinning and that is what they are doing. It's time we stop being on the defense and start attacking sin in the church or out!

If you are a cessasionist you are living in sin because you willfully deny the commands of Jesus and quench the fire of the Holy Spirit. I can say this because I am not a 501C3 pastor controlled by Deacons, Elders and the traditions of man.

Excellent teaching on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is my best friend. He is the one communicating to me the will of the Father. He is my comforter, the voice of reasoning. He is my conviction and the one who taught me how to understand the scripture. I love the verse in Isaiah that says, “whether you turn to the right or the left, there will be a voice behind you saying this is the way, walk in it.” That is my best friend, THE Holy Spirit! I’m forever grateful to Him and the role he plays in the Trinity.
