I am so glad that the Sabres' organization is giving Levi time to develop with Rochester instead of throwing him into the NHL cauldron hoping that he would be the key to getting to the playoffs, and then the Stanley Cup. They didn't rush U.P.L., and that seems to be working for him, and I hope it does the same for Levi. What a goalie tandem those two will make in the coming years!

Of only we would have given him a proper blue line and a center 😢 We literally depended on him to face 40+ shots every night. The injures began the groin especially he knew they were not serious about winning . Watching him raise that stanley cup in Detroit was truly one of the most heartbreaking things i have ever witnessed as a Buffalo sports fan . I was happy for him but just knowing he could have done that for us here in Buffalo but we never helped him.

It's a shame Hasek wasn't a starting goalie in the NHL until he was 29 years old. If he started at the same age as Brodeur he would have had 10-12 Vezina trophies.

If anyone thinks Devon Levi is too young to become Buffalo's #1 goalie, let me say one name...Tom Barrasso! He was drafted as an 18-year old by the Sabres in 1983 straight out of U.S. high school hockey, and won the Calder and Vezina Trophies in his rookie season, then won the Jennings Trophy the following season, all while younger than what Levi is now. Levi has had two full seasons of collegiate hockey (University Goalie of the Year both times!), and played 7 games when Buffalo was in the hunt for a playoff spot, going 5-2. With the major upgrade of Clinton and Johnston on defense, and coach Granato's system of having them play as a team, and not just a collection of individuals (hello, Toronto!), everything is now in place for Levi to help the Sabres get into the playoffs!

Forgive me for saying it, I bleed Blue & Gold but... was Power's attempt legal? The puck 100% goes backwards at the hash marks as he cuts to the middle.

Levi is LEGIT. Talent wise: his positioning is phenomenal. He skates so fast and efficiently (no unnecessary strides) he can almost *teleport* anywhere he needs to to make a save. On top of lightning quick reflexes and full flexibility, he has all the *physical tools* to be a vezina level goaltender. Couple that with: a level of preparation and study his coaches and teammates describe as “maniacal”, (why his positioning is so good) M.A. Fleury level of likability from teammates (they play harder to protect him), and the motivation of being an undersized underestimated 7th(!) round draft pick, and you got something truly special. Can’t wait to see what he does his first full season as a pro!

It is crazy how poised he looks for being such a young rookie goal-tender in the NHL, he has that confidence built in. I think he is going to be special and these 7 games of NHL experience are going to pay dividends next season as he brings us to our first play-off birth in a dozen years.

So I was at that match and I have a few impressions: The Sabres ran the Rangers off the ice - do not let anyone say otherwise. Ranger fans are, with few exceptions, insufferable bores and cannot accept that other teams beat them straight up. Finally, if shesterkin isn’t as inevitable as they think, think of Semyorkin, then any team owns them. Sure, Buff didn’t make the cut, but as a long-time supporters I will take the Buff’s future over anyone… except Chinese cheaters/barbarians.

yup I was at this game, seems just like yesterday..that was actually me tossing my hat on the ice at the 36 second mark lol..I had like $50 of souvenier pins on that hat, I want it back!! lol
