Here's an appetizer for a project a photographer and I have been working on for the past 12 months in NYC. Our blood, sweat, and tears condensed into one minute and forty seconds. Imagine that. Growing ever so tired of waiting for superman, I decided to flex my nascent editing skills on my first crack at Final Cut Pro. Can't wait till the training wheels come off. While comments/ suggestions/ f...

MUSIC IS THE POINT!
whats name of the track?
She hasn't stopped lying since she got exposed for this fake story. She lied about most of her life story in the "Roxanne Roxanne" movie. Even MC Shan exposed her in an interview. It was supposed to be a "Juice Crew" movie but she sold them all out and made it into a feminist movie at the expense of everyone else who was in the juice crew who had a much larger world impact with their music and life than she ever did. Her career ended when KRS dissed her on "The Bridge is Over" and as soon as she ran to Big Daddy Kane to *ghostwrite* a response ("Have a nice day" written by A. Hardy aka Big Daddy Kane) her career was over. She couldn't even write her own response because she was a phony.
I had the 303, zoom drum machine and tascam 4 track
É o Wilson das Neves ali?

I knew I wasn’t crazy, and that she said this out of her mouth!! Smh! Oh, well. She’s one of the GOAT battle rappers! ♥️
Liar
this is so good
Madlib had to wipe his mouth after making that beat! 😄😄😄
Nice 👍
amazsing
I really believed her....why lie about a PhD??? This is crazy...
It's from 1979
Both of your comments are wrong. DejaView launched in 2001, and the channel currently airs 70s, 80s, and 90s shows, hence the 70s-style ident.
to all y'all who got so much ignorant hatred in yourselves: she was very young, a teen mother, and trying to see past the popularity game to something more substantial and went to Marymount when she could've kept doing the lazy thing which is to rap, so kudos to her for that. she probably even felt the pressure of people looking up to her. it was probably that that made her lie. regardless, she inspired people, she contributed greatly to my childhood memories, and she probably felt trapped and didn't want to be seen as a failure. so many of y'all are so hardcore judgmental for something that really doesn't negatively affect anybody else but her but i bet if we looked in all y'all's closets we'd see skeletons and far less achievement, especially when you were her age. so cool out.
In case people missed it at 0:10, a very important comment from a seasoned musician was made. Whether you're using a 'drum 'machine' or and an actual 'instrument'. (A drum a machine is a 'tool' as well) "Music" is the point .
yeah that was key
1979
RIP Clyde
Voce viu o cabeçao por aí?
Sample is O CABEÇÃO by ORQUESTRA SOM BATEAU. Anytime ;)
What a fucking liar. You can even tell, how she looks down real quick and her voice trails away when she says "Cornell Medical". What's so funny about all of this is that what she claimed the nay-sayers said ("She's only gonna go for one semester and then drop out") is EXACTLY what happened. But let's be clear; someone OTHER than Warner Bros (or any other record label) paid for her 3 semesters at Marymount College (and ZERO semesters at Cornell). The worst part about the whole deal is how in interviews/statements after she was exposed, she continued being shady and misleading, which is just pitiful.
chris L why you so mad bro?? i mean for real, ask yourself that. you sound like you got problems bruh, and it ain't with her. it's with yourself.
I am disappointed at the fact that this is a lie. I felt that this was the most inspiring story in Hip Hop, even more inspiring than Jay-Z's success. But I hope it doesn't discourage people from pursuing a higher education and really making something of themselves.
I think the samples "João Donato - Cala Boca Menino"
Although she's new and young, Azealia Banks is a beast on the mic. She'd wreck most of the femcees in the battle
This aged well
O Cabecao-Os Carbonos
Crazy how much he flipped it, thanks for putting the sample.
Documentary????
O Cabecao - Os Carbonos
what documentary is this from?
OCabecao is the original sample
That loop is FUNKY,
master of his tool!
and this proves you dont need to have the largest set up to do music like madlib just have a sampler drum machine record player with some vinyl your good to go as long as you have some talent like him
That is true. It has been reported that much of the story about her receiving her PH.D is fiction. I still love and respect her and her contributions to hip hop, but she shouldn't be lying about this.
I suspect there is a kernel of truth to this story that has been embellished over time. Were waiting for Rox to reveal the whole story, in a book no doubt.
LOVE THIS ONE!! CHOPMASTA MADLIB BREAKS IT DOWN LIKE THIS !!
@Breakbeat90s please do!
@Breakbeat90s Yep you're right, thanks for the heads up! Definitely not Golden Boys.
0:41 madlib swags at a fuckin ill sample drop... what is it?!? I need to throw that on my MPC
"Your sure you high aint you, too much grits" Haha i had no clue madlib was rockin the mpc, i thought he used just the straight sp, i thought WRONG
For anyone wondering about the sample, it is Golden Boys o cabecao. Madlib changed the pitch, and looped the break at 2:16
Have to flip it just so I have a copy 😂
haha, i was thinking the same thing about that record, who the fuck sings like that? lol
What's the song that comes in at 1:10 and 1:41? Please someone tell me!!!
@Superbizzee I think madlib must have pitched it up maybe
@renatokendi Every single person in this world that likes this video, should come and vote "thumbs up" on your response, because you helped all of us find more interesting music. Peace. =)
I feel u Neurozumim - real talk
This is a bizarre story. Why would she have lied for? It has to be about a deep regret to not have studied (when she clearly has the brain for it, just by making this story up). But I think that having the talent that she had, nobody will ever take that away from her. She should be in a Hall Of Fame. If she lied I forgive her because it's not the end of the world. Maybe an University should give her an Honoris Causa for wanting a diploma so much. She'd totally deserve one in the music field.
