Master Sword Restricted 1:07:52 [WORLD RECORD] | TotK Speedrun
Another one of TotK's better categories; this run is just as fun, heart-pounding, and punishing as I remember, and it was nice to quickly get a PB improvement! I'm using the exact same route as my last record back in Sept 2023, but with a couple small optimizations. Some members of the community are working on a re-route that should be good deal faster, so I may give this one a few more tries while waiting to see how that turns out, or run Unrestricted.

First WR for this category in over a year, and this one completes the v1.0.0 main board sweep. Not a huge improvement, and the run is still quite unoptimized, but I'll be moving on for now since I'd like to run some shorter categories lol. This run started out as an offline practice session in preparation to do a full attempt tomorrow, but after the first hour or so I decided to take it all the way, and ended up getting a pretty nice PB/world record :) It was still a very rough and unoptimized run but a sub 6 hour time in this category is looking more and more approachable.

New WR for my favorite category in Tears of the Kingdom, I'm definitely proud of this one. Early game had some menuing mishaps which slowed me down, but a really strong Spirit segment brought us back. I was able to keep pace until Fire where I cleaned up a bit of the mistakes in my previous run. Kept pace thru the next 2 dungeons and finished off strong in the endgame, other than nerves in Demo...

(retimed to :20) Broke into the top 3 with this extremely cursed run. I had my best ever early game, playing just 15s off my sum of best for the first hour, then a bit up and down from there, until I choked pretty hard in the final splits after being on 2:40 pace. dropped almost 3 minutes this time with a much cleaner run throughout, although an unfortunate shield durability mistake cost me a full minute right at the end, and lost about 30s in Recall 2, so I'll be running this back for at least 1 more PB before moving on. new World Record for Tears of the Kingdom All Shrines! I came up with this route and this is my 2nd run, with a pretty substantial re-route in some sections. Had some difficulties in early game and with several of the shrine out of bounds clips, losing multiple minutes. The last hr and a half of the run was quite solid, able to hold pace ahead and finish strong with the fast dragon ending.

this specific setup only works on v1.0.0, but the community is still looking for other setups that could work on later versions.

It only works on version 1.0.0 right now, but glitch hunters are working to find methods on other versions.

@datdiscoguy3744 currently 1.0.0 exclusive, but glitch hunters haven't given up looking for ways to do it on other versions.
Tips after doing the glitch: -jump to the pond and go to get pruna tablet. -replay all four tutorial shrine to get the ability. -open the door. -I don’t know if you have to again auto build mission
How are you duping that bomb shield at 2:50?
@@jasonmeagher8100 using a glitch called turnaround duplication; it works by dropping the shield in a place where theres no room, then dropping another with a frame perfect pause between.

Why does this only works on recall?
@@Xp366 Since prologue Link hasn't completed GSI, any shrine off Great Sky Island will trigger the voidout on the surface and trap you in a voidout loop. And since prologue Link doesnt have the purah pad, the voidout zone below the room of awakening is active, meaning the three other GSI shrines also will void you out upon leaving.

Incredible run! I'm typing this at 1:15:00 where Link's about to go into the Riogok Shrine; is a pocket rocket supposed to last that long? I kinda feel like it should've run out of durability already. Am i missing something?
@@李子-y4g thank you! Yeah, on v1.0 pocket rocket "fuel" is tied to the durability of the shield you use, rather than the rocket itself. That's why pretty much any longer speedrun grabs the Hylian Shield, since it lasts like 800 boosts or something
i tried it but for some reason i cant seem to view a memory (I'm still not done with the great sky island but i did get to the shrine)
@@thunderboy7558 You'll need to complete great sky island first, and then go find a memory on the surface to unlock the memory tab. The fastest one (that we use in speedruns) is the Molduga memory right underneath the Ascend shrine.

Great Guide but could you also Show the Route you need to Take to get the items you Had? I'm Not that good in the Game and doing glitches 😅
Hmm you can see the route I took to prep this save file in my Master Sword world record speedrun here, th-cam.com/video/Kn6r3bU283s/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared but i'm not sure that would be much help if you aren't interested in glitches 😅but really all I used were a couple bows and a couple shields with bomb fuses, which you can pick up pretty much anywhere on GSI.
Can you do this for a completed save as well or does it have to be a new game?
@@G-Man_918 you can use any save file that has completed Great Sky Island and unlocked 1 memory, but I recommend using one you're not gonna miss, because prologue Link can only escape thru Great Sky Island, effectively meaning you're starting over from scratch
