My unit will come any day now, very excited! Btw, as I know you are establishing many units, perhaps it would be worth to point out that there are electric screwdrives that saves a lot of hand damage but also increases accuracy. I personally used to be fit for all my life until I got a wrist injury and now that rotating movement can be quite painful.
Why does it have to go through your server? Couldn't the device fetch and render an endpoint itself?
hey Kyle, devices ping our server because that's where we do all the heavy lifting. fetching data from connected apps, building the e-ink friendly image render, determining which plugin to show next, etc. that said, you're welcome to point TRMNL devices to your own server. our firmware is open source, so you'll just need to change 1 base URL. we've begun DIY / bring-your-own-server docs here: docs.usetrmnl.com/go/diy/introduction

Nice! I'm seeing some basic-ish tailwind classes. Is that the basis? If so, my life is so much easier
native TRMNL plugins leverage our in-house design system, which you can explore here: docs.usetrmnl.com/go/private-plugins/templates but as a fallback, Tailwind classes are also supported. you can theoretically drop in any CDN / stylesheet / script tag of your choosing.
TRMNL is such a nice product.
You should not be afraid of showing your $150 upfront on the site without having to click (pre)order it without really knowing how much it is worth.

For opening up TRMNL to a whole ecosystem, how about creating and publishing a Microsoft Power Platform connector and as a script kiddie, it would be awesome to have PowerShell module.

Thanks guys. Very excited to see the arrival of the product asap! Once the product is out, I am sure many of us are superhappy to share input etc on how we are intending to use the device etc. For me, a basic view of the basic things (email, calendar and tasks) is more than enough to make it worthwhile but I am sure other people have other priorities on what they want but much better to do 1-2-3 thing well rather than trying to do everything from the start.
