I just rebuilt my 6311 crank assembly on my coleman pop up it will go up but wont come back down please help!!!

Best of luck to who ever is trying to install this part without a video showing how to do it. Beyond frustrated. The worm shaft of the wiffle tree pulls the assembly too tight and the ratchet paw doesn't connect. Time to burn this tent trailer down.

My ‘99 StarCraft Starflyer uses little metal twist locks to tightly secure the screen door to the roof. I never realized other camper brands used straps & snaps to secure the door. Interesting choice.

How does this process compare with the system where you have the crank up higher with a chain drive for to the wiffle tree? Like on a 2002 Coleman Mesa

Why wouldn’t you tie one end to the cord your gonna pull out and pull both through at same time use tape like eletricians to cover the ends and feed it through

You mentioned avoiding an impact driver. It doesn't seem that any of my drills have enough torque to actually life the roof. Why would you recommend avoiding an impact driver or impact wrench?

Is it possible the clutch friction piece could be too oily & slippery and not provide enough friction to lower the top? My camper went up OK but now the crank doesn't seem to provide any resistance and does nothing.

After unbolting that assembly, didn't you have to punch out a roll pin to completely remove it?

Does the pin that goes through the wifle tree come out either way or is it 1 way?

Awesome video! What do you recommend for greasing the chain on those chain driven lift systems? And will lubricating the chain accidently lubricate the "clutch"? Since chain goes from the bottom to the top where the clutch is

I want to commend you on your videos. Very detailed and this one certainly helped me in replacing my lift arm cable. Since I'm close to your Thurmont store, I was able to run down and grab all the parts that I needed. The staff down there was very helpful. If there's anything I would like to suggest it's please let the people know they will need a swaging tool to complete the install. I don't hear it mentioned in the video, and the people in your parts area did not mention it as well. Looking back, I realized if the cable was swaged, it wouldn't have fit through the butterfly bracket. So I understand the need to have not completed. It was just a surprise when I was installing it and found I needed to buy a tool. Fortunately, my local Homedepot has them on the shelf. If you have them at your store, it may be an additional sale while the customers are there.

I grew up with mom and dad having a Sun Valley with this kind of lift (80 someting model) and I beleive my 80"s columbia had the fold over ! Now we have a 2002 sedona and it has the fold over style! I like this better! Can this be done in my 2002 and why the change ?

I’m trying to order a new rubber seal but you’re out of stock. Any ETA on when you get more in? I have a trip planned (a bit prematurely) in two weeks and the old seal is basically gone. I just bought it off a friend who was storing it the last few years. Seal is the last major repair.

I have a 1992 Coleman Fleetwood Pioneer Chessapeak - It's never made a clicking noise when raising it but has been VERY hard to crank up. This is my 3 summer with it. I've used it twice this year noticing it seemed even harder. Trying to get it ready for a trip this weekend and I can only crank it up about half way. I removed the front panel and greased the chain, it was dry as can be, but I'm not convinced that helped. It does feel like the problem is right in this part of the assembly though. I'll have to try to find this piece and see if that's part of the problem.

I need the rear canvas for 2007 rock wood freedom. Bed measures 74 ish inches. Can not find anywhere! Anyone have any recommendations?

Long shot. Mother in law's camper is (allegedly) a 2005 Fleetwood Niagara. The upper gear is not engaging, it can be raised and lowered with the internal 5/8 nut. I need to order an assembly kit, but I am new to this and have no idea what crank assembly this is. The crank is vertical of the jack screw and is in the middle of the spare tire. Currently looking for schematics, manuals and diagrams, but it is a bit chaotic. If you can tell me which assembly this is, I would appreciate it. It is currently at a campsite until 6/16/24 and I would love to get something ordered and replace it while it's there. I understand you're a busy guy and won't be heart broken if there's no response. Thanks EDIT: Found the Data Plate and confirmed 2005 (not 2019 which I knew was not correct) and I have found some schematics for that year.

Thank you for the video. I have a 2004 Mesa. The roof is like the "Westlake" example in the video. The inside of the roof looks great - however the outside of the roof is sagging and causing water to pool rather than run off. Would it be the outer plywood rotten under the metal skin?? Or would it be the core foam that is shrinking?? How hard is it to take the metal off, the plywood off, replace the foam, replace the plywood, and then what.... Put a membrane on the roof? Do you have any videos of this? I know all replies take time. Thank you for your time.

My camper top would not raise-turn the handle and nothing happened. I replaced the drive hub extension tube, and now it raises BUT there is no clicking and it will fall if you let go of the handle. Obviously, it is not catching. Do I need a new crank system or just replace ratchet pawl? Also, the chain is taught on one side but loose on the other

What if I want to keep the original cargo box? It there a way to repair it?

Thanks for the video, Derek! We replaced our drive hub extension and we are back in business! We lost ours on our way home from camp. Quick question, how do you know when to stop unwinding when you are lowering the popup? If you go too far, does that loosen the drive hub?

Hi Derek. How do you measure for replacment bows? I measured mine (width and the arm to the bed) and my measurements are not listed for parts. It's likely user error. Lol My issue is that my bed bow (96 Coleman Key West-king bed) was cracked & bent but I was able to repair it with a fiberglass tape but the bow doesn't lock. I can extend the shepherd pole and the bow will just slide down the back window. Do I need a whole new bow, a bracket, or both? I don't really understand what stops the bed bow from going beyond the desired angle. Any advice is appreciated!

I suspect the issue is inside the box just beyond the crank assembly tube. Do you have a video that shows how to take apart the inside and replace? I have the model with the two open side bearing cup.
