Hello! Yes that is a great question, we will create a video demonstrating this and let you know as soon as it is available!
You are awesome. Can this option include doors?
Thank you so much! That is a great question! Yes if you go into your Part Catalogue again, and then instead of opening up the 'Assembly' folder, if you scroll to the 'Door' folder, you should see a 'Banding' sub-folder there. Within this space, you can create more edge-banding options for your Door Schedules too!

I have the value showing as 0 and if I try a different height is stays at 0 and keeps the height at the job level Parameter.
Hello! In your System Parameter settings under the Utilities tab in Cabinet Vision, does your Value field look identical to the one in the video? The underscore and semi-colon are very important for the formula to work, so the field should look exactly like this: _CV:238 If it is, let me know and we can troubleshoot some more!

That's a great question! At the moment, that option is not currently available from the exact same menu. I know that this idea is currently under review by the development team however. ( nexus.hexagon.com/community/cabinet_vision/i/ideas/annotation-object-numbers-in-plan-cross-section ) The best solution at the moment would be to add the number annotations directly onto the Drawings page in question after the scene has been sent there. @@maher_kit Hello! If we want to see a personalised image that includes the cabinet number, this can be easily accomplished via the +Label module of Cabinet Vision, though this is specifically for the labels. Why can't I get a section thru on a peninsula wall ?
Hello! You should be able to see the Cross Section on the Peninsula Wall too. Are you currently looking from the Plan or Elevation view? From the Plan view, you can manually move the Red Line in the window at the top of the lefthand column to intersect with the Peninsula Wall. If you want to see it from the Elevation View, be sure to be already looking at the Elevation of the Peninsula Wall when you click on the Cross Section button. Hope that helps!

How can I create drawers with adjustable shelving?
Hello! That is an interesting question, maybe you could expand on it a bit for us in a bit more detail. I presume this drawer would not have a drawer face? So it would be moreso like an open box with adjustable shelving within another cabinet?
Well i have question too ! For an example i am creating a tall cabinet and it have 4 hinges. When i put too many adjustable shelves like 15 shelves and some of them are crossing with hinges. Does cabinet vision automaticaly adjust hinges position when its crossing with shelves ?
As far as I know, it does not have collision detection
@@TarRip Well if it doesnt have that it's bad i mean the program amazing you know but the other programs have that feature too but if cabinet vision doesnt have this feature it makes me kind a sad
Hello! That's a great question! There are a few ways to answer this. Firstly, Cabinet Vision will tell you if there is a conflict between your hinges and internal parts of a cabinet in your job. When your adjustable shelf is conflicting with a hinge, you will see a warning pop-up from your Plan or Elevation view ("There are build errors or warnings") and when you click on the little yellow triangle in the far-bottom right of your screen, you will see a list of cabinets, their corresponding number for easy reference, and what the issue is. In this case, "Conflict between Hinge(s) and Internal Part(s)!". This is a good way to keep track of if there is any problems in the design which need attention! Assuming we are adding the adjustable shelves via the Section Interior menu, Cabinet Vision will try make whatever amount of shelves we choose to add via the 'Horizontal Multi Split tool' work (so long as it is an integer between 2 and 99), because as a user, in this case, we are telling Cabinet Vision the number of shelves is more important than if it is a genuinely advantageous design in reality. I would say this is a strength of Cabinet Vision, because as a cabinet maker or designer, we can adapt the program to whatever our needs may be on site or in the factory! So, Cabinet Vision won't necessarily automatically adjust the position of the hinges or the adjustable shelves for you just because it detects a conflict, and this is because as a user we are able to 'override the behaviour of Cabinet Vision' if we feel our design outweighs what should really work for whatever reason. That said, we are able to automate Cabinet Vision behaviour! Especially hinge or shelf placement, but this requires User Created Standards written up and customised to account for your specific needs. We hope that helps answer your question! :)

How about making a UCS so it’s an attribute on the side bar? That would be super useful!
Hello! Yes we could absolutely do that. We will prepare a video that demonstrates how to do just that!
Hi Clayton I'm wondering if it's possible, since I just found out about the split, if it's possible to add an UCS to create operation to include a dowel joint for example? It´s only a Split or it create a new "internal" edge to the piece and then we can include an operation or banding by UCS? I look at the tree view and only shows the split as a parameter "_SPLITY1" Thank you Gerardo
Hello! Thank you for reaching out! Yes the _SPLITY parameters can be used in UCSs, and I would encourage you to read through their descriptions in the System Parameters file under the Help tab in Cabinet Vision because they can be useful! When we add a split in Cabinet Vision, the program won't perceive this divided part as having different edges though necessarily. From CV's point of view, this is the same part with the same edges. Only when we send it to S2M Centre does it make the distinction in that sense. So using a very robust UCS to add banding there, for example, might be far trickier than it's worth.
@@PlanitCanadaInc It is complex but there is always a route that can be created to achieve the goal. In a video that I put together over the weekend I managed to do operations to insert wooden dowels and join those parts that are generated at the S2M level. I invite you to watch the video and I thank you for having introduced me to this tool since at least it solves a couple of things that happen on a daily basis Regards and thanks again Gerardo th-cam.com/video/EVntNw4WSkE/w-d-xo.html
is it just me or are the sides of the video clipped out?
Hello, thank you for your comment! Yes they are clipped. We are constantly endeavoring to improve the quality of our content, so we appreciate any feedback :)
There are many good applications of splitting parts, but with all due respect, your example is not one of them. What sense does it make to split an end along it's dowel location? Now you have the back to contend with, and assembly will be a real treat. Simply stack two cases and be done? That aside, I've learned a ton from your videos, a real help as in house visits from your group are too expensive honestly
Hello! Thank you for reaching out! I definitely agree with you. It is important for everyone to add the splits where it's most applicable, and your case makes the most sense. The idea with the video was to quickly demonstrate how to use the Splitting tool, and position the split where you would deem suitable, with less emphasis on specifically where. That said, we will take your advice on board and use less theory/more practical examples in future videos. Thank you.
Hi! Great video. Do you have any videos on how you made your waterfall edge countertops? I am unable to find this tutorial or setting in CV.
We will add a video that tackles this question soon, that's a great idea!
hi thank you for this information is great. I was wandering I you make a video about blind corner cabinet about hinges to work with the blind corner cabinet
Thank you for watching and providing feedback with video ideas! We will make a video soon to answer that. We'll look forward to reading your thoughts about it.
How would you create a splash back with tiles? There would be grout lines. It would be good to be able to do layouts with tiles. Wouldn't a better way be to create some sort of overlay layer and then have the cabinets on another layer that's on top of the bottom backsplash layer so that it would "trim" away the bottom layer only to see what's left?
Hello! You can add backsplash in Cabinet Vision for both sizing and aesthetic value, but the overall size and spacing of the splashbacks should be worked out by the designer to suit the tiles and include the grout if that's what you're aiming for. Hopefully that helps! :)
It's very painful to watch...
Thank you for your feedback! We are constantly working on improving the quality of our content, so we will take that on board. If you would like to clarify on what aspect of the video didn't work for you, we would appreciate hearing it. :)
Awesome video! I am trying to do a waterfall edge like yours, but I can't figure it out. Could you make a tutorial on that? Thanks!
Absolutely! That's a great idea, thank you. We will add it to the queue!
thanks for the video! Is there any way to label the doors fora drawer stack (A, B, C, D) to show A is the top and D is the bottom. We can get the grain match to work but need help identifying how to get the description formatted and then ultimately reflected onto the labels...
Hello! That's a great question! There are a couple of ways to approach this. There are several UCSs available on the Nexus forums which you might find useful and suit you, such as: nexus.hexagon.com/community/cabinet_vision/f/cv-user-created-standards/79998/ucs-share-for-renaming-drawers-doors-for-labels/382915 nexus.hexagon.com/community/cabinet_vision/f/cv-legacy-versions/86755/numbering-drawers-in-a-drawer-stack But I was able to label my doors and drawer faces by copying and pasting the UCS below, found in the first link. I hope this helps! ;Renames Rollout, Drawer Box, Door Parts For Each ROS|BS|BBT|BBK|BF|DFP|DRP|S_DSLAB|DOR|DWR Part ;------------------------ If name = 'DOR' Then DESC = 'Door {_LABEL}' End If If name = 'DWR' Then DESC = 'Drawer {_LABEL}' End If If name = 'S_DSLAB' Then DESC = 'Door Slab {_LABEL}' End If

Hello! This message will pop-up when importing a package with a catalogue from a version older than CV2022. To run the update version and complete the import, you will want to close your Cabinet Vision. Then find your install files of Cabinet Vision, which are for most people installed on your C: Drive, and then from the CV 2023 folder you will want to search an application called 'CVUpdateVersion.exe'. With Cabinet Vision closed, run this application and it will update. Hope this helps!

is it possible to make the microwave stick out 3/4 of an inch?
Hello @Quasi924, yes it is possible to make the microwave stick out like that. It depends slightly on if your microwave is a separate object or associated with the cabinet. If your microwave object is associated with the cabinet itself: Double-click on the cabinet from the elevation or plan view, then you should arrive at the cabinet properties level. From the 'Face' view you should be able to click on the microwave object and change the 'Z' parameter in the column on the lefthand side to modify it's positionning on that axis (in this case how far the object sticks out). If your microwave is an independent object: From the 'Elevation' view of your room, try clicking on the microwave object and changing its 'Z' parameter there.

Hey, I have a quick question may be u can help. I need to add a baseboard to the cabinet that protrudes half an inch on both sides and seamlessly connects to the wall. Thanks.
Adding a baseboard can be done using the 'Molding' fonction in Cabinet Vision. From the Plan view of a project, click on the Molding button and choose the Type Baseboard. Then you can draw it manually or ask the program to automatically generate it, similar to how we add counter tops in CV. Thanks for your question!

How do you place the chairs on the island? Because the program does not allow the chairs to be moved outside the wall.
Hello! If you hold down the 'Ctrl' button in Cabinet Vision when placing an object, you will be able to place it where you would like. Hope that helps!
How can i change the format in which the program presents the banding on the cuttinglist... In example my program would present NENN or DDDD or ENNE or something like that... when the workers are used to 2W/1L or 2S1L or something like that... is this even possible?
That's a great question! Clayton intends to do a video on this topic, but for now, we have some instructions for you below: Step 1) After optimising a part, you will want to click on the Reports button in the S2M Center. (Found above the NC Code & Labels button) Step 2) Click on the Setup Reports button on the left. Step 3) Find the Report that you want to modify, and right click on it. Click the Edit option. (If CV asks you to create a copy of that report, that's okay.) Step 4) On the left hand side of the Editing Report menu, you will see a table probably called 'Table: PartList'. Double click on that. Step 5) Scroll down the formulas list until you find one which likely is called 'PartList.BandingFlags'. Double click on that. Step 6) Open up the folder 'Fields' and then 'PartList', and then you should see a formula called 'BandingCode'. That sounds like it is the format you are looking for. Click on it, and then Insert. Then delete the old formula 'PartList.BandingFlags' so you don't double up. Then you should be able to save the modification, and it's all done!
Thanks for this 😊
You should make a Video on how to connect the report.accdb to S2M Labels So we can have access to the RoomDescription Field
That's a great video idea! We will add that to the queue!
Hi, thank you tayla for showing off this method but i guess it will be limited only to open cabinets. I guess it is not possible to add two complete pair door to this model if it is possible please guide me. Thanks for the video (your videos are always helpful)
Hello are you using CV ?
@@prasadpatil4596 yes i sm using
Hello! Yes, that should be possible to do. Great question! We will prepare a video that answers that question and upload it soon!
Hello, we have just uploaded a video guiding you through this in Cabinet Vision! Check it out here! th-cam.com/video/R79yQid3HnY/w-d-xo.html
Great video!
Please make a video on how to create pressing panels for example 1mm laminate+ 16mm raw Play+ 1mm laminate And how to generate pressing plans for carpenters
Thank you for the suggestion! We will let the team know, and see what we can do!
Great video, would you be able to share with me the computer specifications you are using to run this version of Cabinet Vision?
Hello! Yes absolutely, I am using an Intel i7 13th Generation CPU 16GB of RAM, 4060 video card. Hopefully that helps!
Hey, maybe you can help. I can not get pull holes in my doors. Any troubleshooting you could reccomend? My tooling, and schedule manager seem to be in order, but it will not optimize any holes. Any help or direction would be helpful. Thanks.
Would you be able to clarify with me if you can see the pull holes in your elevation views and more so that they aren't optimizing? Or is it that you can't see the hole drilling at all on your cabinets in the first place before they even make it to S2M Center?
tried this but when i go in the elevation view the value is 0 and when i try and type something it goes back to zero
You need to put a semicolon after the _CV _CV:238
@@marklundgren4611 thank you
@@marklundgren4611 No, that's a colon. _CV;238 is what you want.
Love that there is a lot of content being uploaded!! Makes it really easy to follow along and improve our process, thank you!!
What happened when in that same room you want some tall cabinets, say on another wall?
Then you will need to modify at cab level the toe height through section properties \
you better make a ucs instead of this way
Sweet that helps alot
Hi there - really useful video! Do you know if there is a way of asking CV to group door fronts and make sure they are cut from the same sheet? We are using a batch of cherry veneer MDF and there is a bit of variety within it, I have grouped two sets of stacked drawer fronts tat are side by side and need to come from the same sheet - the grain is vertically matched, and CV puts the two stacks on two different boards, even if i group them manually. i would just take them out of the optimization with filters and tell the guys in the workshop for a one off, but this job actually has too many similar instances of this issue to do this. cheers! howard
Hello Howard! This sounds like perhaps it could be related to your sheet margin settings associated with the machine. Cabinet Vision could be accounting for the space available to optimise on the sheet according to those settings, and believe that a second sheet is required even if from our perspective that's not the case. That would be where I start, but there could be a couple of different factors potentially at work here, and without seeing your system it's tricky to tell from a distance. I would encourage you to get in touch with your local Tech support team to be sure.
