Hey, Did you end up posting your Anki add-ons somewhere?
I don’t have it up. Is that something you’d be interested in?
Why don’t u get straight to the point lol
Pretty eyes lashes! Thanks for the help!!!
Thanks so much. Glad to hear it helps
Hey Jason! I have an interview at GW next Friday and wanted to know if you could give me any tips. Just as you said in the vlog, I emphasized my public health background (I am currently doing a Master's in Public Health, published a Public Health-related paper, and also volunteered at a Free Clinic for about 3 years). Would appreciate your help!
That’s awesome! Congrats. Hope it went well. I think it’s best to talk about what you’re passionate about. That’s the best way to stand out!
I got my interview tomorrow and this helped a ton!
So glad to hear it helped! Hope your interview went well. Anything I should’ve added to the video ?
As a med student every summer i have this one big goal is to sleep well and live at least for 1 month and half with 0 stress 😂
Trust me, I definitely slept well during this time. I had a blast focusing on research and living in such an amazing city!
Do you have any advice for an incoming first year?
I have loads. Do you have any particular questions ?
I have watched so many Anki for beginners video and still don't know how to use it until I found this video. It's beginning to click, so thank you for making the steps easy to follow. I hope that with Anki I don't have to take any notes in medical school (I'm suck at taking notes)
So glad you got a lot of out video. Any further questions on how to best use it ?
So which schools did you get accepted in ? 🔥
Only school that accepted me was George Washington. Are you applying this cycle ?
Impressive progress while juggling a full-time job! Your study plan seems effective. Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much. I did work well enough to get me accepted to med school. Are you currently applying ?
Thank you!!!! I need a plan and where it will lead me. I love the AAMC material section you’re incredible !
Thanks so much. How’s your studying going ?
Pleeeeese we need an Arabic translation
I wish I knew how to add this in. Let me know if you have any questions
Hi Jason, love your videos. Would love to use the secondary tracker but seems like the link isn't working anymore. Can you please share the link to the excel sheet. Thanks.
Hi! so I have multiple poster presentations. Should I combine them into one activity?
Yes that should be on activity !
A good bed😂
A good bed makes a huge difference !!
Is it possible to get a scholarship to that university? I'm from another country
Yes. GW has need and merit based scholarships
How many you have to study
We have to study every organ system and that takes 18 months
Good work
Thanks so much. It means a lot !
Hello Jason,do you know if I can teach preclinical medical subjects with a bachelors in BME and a phd in that specific subject?
Yes I think that is very possible. In what setting do you want to teach?
@@JasonKrasteinin medical school
Where's your ANKI video?
It is coming soon! Anything in particular you want to see ?
@@JasonKrasteinI think it'd be helpful for me to see how you kinda reasoned through which MCAT deck was going to help you the most since there are so many to choose from
How r u?
I’m doing well. Almost done with my 3rd year clinical rotations. Always appreciate you checking in.
Thanks a lot for this!!
You're very welcome! Hope it helps
Hey awesome video! Hate to keep adding but could you share the link to the Excel file? It says it has been deleted.
Hey - thanks for the heads up. Not sure why this keeps happening. I just reposted. Let me know if it works !!
@@JasonKrastein golden ! Thank you so much !
@@alec9105 great! not sure why it keeps doing that. just make sure to download the file and make your own copy to work on!
If you don’t mind, how did you find this nice 1 bedroom. I’m starting Georgetown soon and NEED this place!
This building is actually too far from Georgetown. I got it during a covid special and got 3 months off. It’s super expensive now. I know most Georgetown med students live together
Hi Jason! I am an incoming GW student and I was wondering if GW has any specific premade decks, and why you chose to use a premade deck like Anking versus using a GW-specific deck (if it exists) or making your own? I wasn't sure if making my own deck would be too time-consuming. Also, I wasn't sure if I'd be missing out on material on exams by using a non-GW-specific deck. Thanks so much!
Congrats !! I would avoid making your own whole deck. It’s way too time consuming. There is a GW specific deck but I would recommend using anking since there is enough overlap and will better prepare you for step compared to in house
@@JasonKrastein Thank you so much! Do you feel like you still do well on exams using anking exclusively? And do you review lecture slides at all before an exam to make sure you understand the big picture concepts/connections or details not covered in anking? I think my issue is letting go of my old way of studying and embracing something new (since I've never used flashcards before!), but I'm keeping an open mind!
I definitely lean heaving into Anki after reviewing all the material on sketchy, BnB, or Pathoma. The video resources are key
Heey, how r u? What about new yt vid?
Im doing well. New video coming soon. Is there something in particular you want to see?
@@JasonKrasteinapartment tour :-) amd whats new at school!
I can definitely add that to the list !
Hey Jason does gw SMHS not have a gym for the students?
The school does have a gym that is shared among the entire GW community, so it includes undergrad and graduate programs. I did not think it was large enough to accommodate everyone during busy times
Cortisol levels during this video: 📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈📈
Trust me, they were for me too!!
Your family is absolutely correct, nothing worth having is ever easy or simple. Kudos to you for pushing though and giving us great videos. Continued success on your medical journey!
Definitely been a grind. But I love the path that I’m on!
Reading is fundamental!!! @Jason another great video!!!
Thanks so much. I am trying to get back into reading as much as I did as a young kid. Have any recs?
I think it's so great that you have coaches in med school for support. I started using PB fit on my oatmeal..good tip!!!
I truly think it’s one of the best things we have at GW. the support is amazing!
One common thread I noticed in a few med student videos, is how they emphasize eating well and exercising. Its so important to take care of yourself to combat the rigor and stress of med school. Thank you so much for taking the time of your busy schedule to take us along the journey!
My mindset is that I can’t do a great job taking care of others if I can’t take care of myself first. Can’t poor water from an empty glass
Coffee = nectar of the Gods. Lol
I am a full believer. I love a good shot of espresso to start the day
I think you are a genuine good soul, just be yourself. Everyone's story is different....I enjoy yours :)
I truly try my best to share my experiences so everyone else can understand that they aren’t alone
i saw some articles on modifying vaccines like bcg with inactivated parasite components to treat for the hygiene hypothesis of asthma closest thing to a cure that I've heard of
Interesting. Please send those over. Would love to take a look
I have noticed you doing Yoga in bits...How do you find it helps with the stress and rigors of med school in addition finding your balance?
I love having a morning stretch/yoga is a key way for me to start the morning right
I love how down to earth you guys are. Great video!!!
Glad you’re enjoying it. Please share with friends and family. Would mean a lot !
Hi Jason, Im a medical student at UMass Chan Medical School and I love your videos! Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration!
Thanks so much! Appreciate the words of encouragement ! What year are you ?
@@JasonKrastein I am a second year going into my third year soon (if I passed step)!
@@Nickkamkari im sure you did. are you taking time off?
I passed!!!!!
@@Nickkamkari That's amazing!! Congrats. What are your plans to celebrate??
New subbie,@Jason...I love your honesty and passion for your future endeavors. We are honored to have you in the medical community. 🙏
Thanks so much for the new sub. Wow thank you for the kind words. Truly means a lot !
I'm a new subscriber, but I hope you did well on your Step one exam. Love your videos, great job 👏
Thanks so much for subscribing. Means a lot. And yes I did pass step 1. On to clinicals !’
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Is there anything else you had hoped to see in the tour of GW ?
The new cafe!
@@haigpakhchanian4420 A new video is definitely in order!!
Good luck with everything you’re doing! Totally understand TH-cam won’t always be a top priority for you
Thanks so much. I truly appreciate it. I hope to be back soon!!
Do you have a link to access the excel template for secondaries? It would be super helpful, thanks
Hey it should be fixed. Let me know if it works now!
Hey! What about new video? Hows study going?
I just finished taking step 1. I am currently on vacation and will be back on new videos soon!!
Thanks so much, this was supper helpful!! I know you're going to be an amazing doctor :)
Aw thanks so much! I truly appreciate it. So excited to be helping patients soon
Hi brother. Commerce undergraduate background students can join Med-school.
Hey! It doesn’t matter what your undergrad studies are. Just have to apply and take the proper pre med courses
When did you add the other schools on AMCAS? After you got your second MCAT score in July or when you were waiting for your second score back?
Yes I waited until my score came back to apply to other schools in which my MCAT score was in the range
congrats on manuscript!! pubmed got a new DR K on the H index. good work buddy, keep it up. can focus a little less on research now and crush step1 and clinicals
Thank you !! I’ll hopefully be able to work with you one day!! Any tips for clinicals ?
for clinicals be very passionate about patient history/info, management , in the most efficient way that you know patient next steps cold but then help the team do they do less work (basically function independent short of putting in orders). and the three a’s
What are the 3 a’s?
I think you’ve always been a great storyteller! Enjoyable videos. 😊
Wow thanks so much. That really means a lot !! Which video of mine is your favorite ?
@@JasonKrastein I like the DC scenes that I’m familiar with (you might remember that I mentioned that I used to work at Himmelfarb), and just seeing your day to day. I’m not quite sure why I enjoy watching You Tubers day to day lives but I guess I’m not alone. Lol! I also really enjoyed this video of your trip back home to LA. Most of the You Tubers I watch are in other countries (living variously perhaps?) but your videos remind me of a nostalgic time for me working and studying at GWU in the 90’s. 😎
Glad my videos have let you relive your times in DC! Hope to be posting more soon!
Welcome back! What about apartment tour video?
Thanks! It’s good to be back! Yes. I can definitely get working on that video. Anything else you’re interested in seeing ?
