I’ve got a 05 - 500, it started jerking, some mechanics said it was the tranny but i checked, turned out the head gaskets were bad and they were leaking oil into the sparkplugs, changed all the gaskets and most of the jerks disappeared, need to change the coils but the engine now purs like a kitty, just need to do maintenance to the trans and i'm golden. Just wanted to share!

How many miles do you have and did you change the transmission fluid? My 06-500 has 200+ miles jerks whenever I change gears. I have a 6 speed automatic trans. Already did a tune up and changed spark plugs and coils.

no that is not correct for this transmission. Only Motorcraft premium which is also interchangeable with Mobil 3309 or Toyota or Aisin Type T-IV.

@CreatingExcellence I asked that same question. I jacked up the car and changed the oil. While I was under the car I noticed that my trans didn’t have a pan nor filter like the ones I saw on other TH-cam videos meaning it’s a 6 speed automatic and not a cvt.

I checked my ECU/ECM what ever you wana call it and even the TCM on the passanger side thinking they had water damage and there wasnt any damage to ecu/or tcm completley dry no cerossion what so ever they still look brand new. So my last option is the tranmision fluid or the battery just like how you pointed out at the end.
