Horizon x Movement Workshop June 2024
TEAM HORIZON // MOVEMENT WORKSHOP - 22nd & 23rd June
Location:
Skydive Jurien Bay, north of Perth, Western Australia
Coaches:
Emma Jaber - Team Horizon Skydiving
Jake Stacy - Movement Workshop
Edit:
Darius ‘Zargs’ Atkinson
Camp Format:
This skill camp was designed for anyone wanting to progress their tracking/angle flying. Participants were placed into groups to work on their set goals. Groups rotated between the two coaches over the weekend, getting a new coach each day.
The first day’s forecast was not great, with showers and thick clouds covering the dropzone. But we still managed to get 4 jumps in after starting our first load at lunch time.
The second day turned out perfectly with low winds and scattered clouds to fly in-between. The groups got 6 jumps over the day.
One of the participants, Darius Atkinson, chose to work on camera flying skills as his goal for the weekend. Darius was behind the lens for some of the footage seen in this video and he created this video edit.
Sponsors:
Thank you Skydive Jurien Bay and the Western Australian Parachute Council for your support in helping us host this event.

You know it’s the belly fliers who get the best videos not you upstart free flyers. It’s very impressive to see the sport still evolving. And the inverted flight to upright flight was a very cool maneuver. Blue shies.

For anyone that doesn't skydive...Let me tell you. What you see in this video, is so fricking difficult and impressive its absolutely unreal, especially when you add the camera work on top. 👏👏👏

Is it difficult because of the close proximity flying or the choreography?

    • @PaulBlueSkies
      @PaulBlueSkies ปีที่แล้ว

Both. Staying close needs precision when flying, so it's a matter of skills and security, and choregraphy implies that everyone has to deal with the friend's different falling speeds

Takes extreme coordination skills kinda like the skateboarders doing all the ollie tricks...

Wow ! Isn't it dangerous being that close to each other? What if you ran into each other, what would happen ? I actually came here to see the horizontal, level, flat horizon ! Thank you ! 👍🇨🇦✌️

You indeed need skills to stay close this way

    • @PaulBlueSkies

If you run into a friend in the air, everything depends on your speed relatively to your friend. High speed, high danger
