1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Graduate Spoiler Refinish.
The plastic spoiler was in fairly sad shape, and the brake light inside of it was unattached. The only way to get inside of the spoiler was to remove it, and I went ahead and refinished it while it was removed. It turned out really nice. I had to learn how to remove the spoiler; after removing the bolts, it was still bonded tight to the body. It was an extremely tough adhesive that had to be carefully chiseled off the body. Also, there is no access to the screws that hold the brake light in without removing all the big rivets holding the metal to the plastic. I wasn't about to remove those rivets, so I drilled out two access holes in the metal to get a small socket in there. Two of the rivets were pulled out on one end, and the hole in the plastic was also widened too much for new rivets to work. So I ended up replacing those two rivets with screws and washers. Although the adhesive I used is holding well, I probably would have used a thicker black silicone caulk-like sealant instead.

Christmas Nutcracker Collection 2016 Not quite all of the nutcrackers are set up this year. We left many of the nutcrackers specific to other holidays packed up. Still, maybe a few new ones since the 2013 video. We haven't actively collected them for the last few years, but every year seems to bring a few unique ones into the collection. Around 350 last count.

1962 Ford TRICO vacuum windshield wiper motor gave up after 52 years on my 1962 Mercury Comet. No parts available for this model. After some cleaning and lubrication, hope to get another decade or two out of it.

beautiful job! I have an '87 veloce... mine was at the local high school auto shop and one of the students didn't know how to open the trunk :( They epoxied the rectangular cover back onto the under side of the spoiler. Do you have pictures of that or did it not need any repair?
Thanks. No photo, but yes, one of the side corners required epoxy to reattach the screw holder bit on. Unless you're referring to the center brake light cover. That was lost long ago, I'll need to fabricate something to replace it with. I've never been able to get that center brake light to work properly, despite cleaning all the contacts, switch, grounds, etc. Even with 12v all the way to the light holder, it's still flakey.

Nice display, my wife is also a nutcracker collector, but not near as much as you yet. But, one good thing, we also have the Henry the VIII, but ours was missing the mutton or turkey leg, and the ball in the other hand, is that supposed to be an ornament with a jewel?
It looks like a little ball, nothing special. I'm always replacing little parts, hair/fur. Find a cheap broken nutcracker and steal the "septor" from it, and carve a little turkey leg from soft wood and paint it.

WOW... What a magnificent collection.
Follow up: The repair worked great! First, superglued the knob and broken plastic bits together just to hold them in place. Then filled in the missing area in with a little epoxy putty. After that hardened, I used a dremmel to grind the shape a little better and clean it up. I even wound some heavy button thread around the repaired area and coated the area with a layer of clear epoxy (like the guide holes are attached to a fishing pole). Last, I shot it with a little black paint and reassembled it, using a little silicone grease for lubrication.

I must have seen these guys at least 100 times at Baker St. when I was in chiropractic school in Marietta from '82-'86. I was turned on to them by the hottest pizza waitress in Atlanta, Annie at Son's of Italy. Damn she was fine.
