Yes. It doesn't save much time at all, .1 to .2 seconds from what I've checked, but it sets up a more reliable drop in that section because you're always respawning on top of the dissolving blocks in the same place.

I don't really pay attention to achievements in New Era, so I don't know how many of them work. I'm all about speeding through the game :)

Glad to hear that :) Feel free to give it some runs, it'd be nice to have more runners for this one. Looking back at this one, there were a lot more time losses in it than I'd remembered. Not surprising, given that I only did a handful of attempts, but I wonder how low it could go...

Thanks! Hard to say until I try it in actual runs, but I did a few attempts starting from the beginning of the jungle, and got it 3 out of 4 times. And the 1 failure was from a sloppy mistake at the very end.

Basically, if you get out of the whipgirl and walking biker swarm with decent health, you can avoid dying until the grenade. And if you take a lot of damage from them, you can take a death in time to take intentional hits from the bikes to set up the grenade death. (And you would kill the bikers who jump off the bikes with specials as well in that scenario.) So as long as you read your situation correctly, it can work out. The main failure mode is probably trying to hard to cling to small life when there's a lot of bikes left to come, and dying too late to drop your hp. Of course, I'm only testing this with Blaze, so people running other characters should test it out for themselves to see how they should approach it.

Yeah. Normal is one of Iopa's strongest times with Blaze, probably 2nd after his very easy time if you don't adjust mania for being a 1 life start. I don't know if I'll ever try to match it... but I'll definitely push for sub 27 at some point.

Feel free to spread the word to the Max people-I might not be around much during their stream times for a bit.
