You gotta love those huge old RD6 engines... Those engineers are looking down from heaven no doubt and are proud of the job they did in engineering and producing those huge old engines.... They no doubt had a free hand in engineering and producing those magnificent tractors.... the bean counters ( accounting and unit production accountants ) must of been dead or asleep when they made these....

Good to see the old gleaners still goin strong , we grew up with gleaners as a kid in the 70,s and 80,s , we had an a gleaner , a c , c2 , g, and m, and L2 , but never got to the rotaries , but these are sounding pretty nice on your farm 👍

Very nice crawler, sounds good, and the background scenery is great (definitely different than here in PA.)

A nice steady harvest pace as can see you take good care of those R72's and semi/equipment as i had operated Gleaner R72, in wheat as they are such comfortable combine so easy to service and work on. God bless your happy family farm from Australia. Best regards, Bill.

Thanks for your video and its always good to see Gleaner cleaner combines in action. Why not just dump into the trucks on the go on those long straight passes instead of dumping into carts as it would mean less augering which would result in less fines in the grain-? Dumping into trucks on the go is the way that is done for some other crops.

The complaint on the G Gleaner was it could thresh more grain than it could clean. Thus the moniker “silver seeder”.

The F6 was considered a 2 Ton. The F5 was a 1 1/2 ton. (F1=1/2 ton, F2=3/4 ton, F3= 1 ton, F4= 1 1/2 ton (1 3/4 ton Option). F6 = 2 ton

Brings back memories. My Grandpa had a 1949 F-5. 3 Speed, 6 Cylinder, I believe.

It does get expensive yes! I had a 1949 John Deere B and one of the first repairs that I did to it once I got it is fix all the ignition system. I’m talking about spark plug, spark, plug wires, the cap, the router and I got those parts directly from John Deere. It was almost 90 bucks for just that! In the end by time when I unfortunately had to sell the tractor. I calculated I spent basically two grand in repairs!

The first combine I ever ran was a 1968 95H, cutting wheat and barley on the hills of Benton County, Washington in 1980. It was gas-powered without hydrostatic drive. Kids today wouldn't have a clue how to run one of these things. They're used to computers doing everything for them. The most technologically advanced parts of a 95H were the oil pressure and temperature gauges (and you had to keep a close eye on them.) Mine had a large canopy overhead. Some operators would hang a wet shirt or towel from the canopy to keep the sweat bees away from them, but it didn't work. The bees don't want moisture; they want perspiration.

Transmission not shifting well?? I think you need more practice at Double D Clutching - That is Clutch down from Gear To Neutral then clutch again from Neutral to the next Higher Gear. IN changing down its gear to Neutral then- Accelerate your engine RPM to the gearbox RPM then change to the next gear down. IT DOES TAKE A BIT OF PRACTICE
