Made over forty years ago before music videos. Shot on Standard 8mm and edited the old fashioned way. Just used Movie maker to enhance some shots.

I can’t believe they just cut off the series without a proper conclusion. How rude! I only just saw this series on Prime video. And boom! Both women over the cliff and nothing!
The best speach ever, and the reality is every word was true. The industry that has gone from this country is frightening.
I was born the year after this film was made. From being John and Julie's age, about 1966, this country has become almost unrecognisable. I know distance lends enchantment, but to me, it seems a far more stressed, crowded and materialistic place!
As an American I love the British series I got really hooked in it because of the location. I wanting to actually visit Derbyshire sometime next year but the way the writers ended the series was pathetic. I will go back and American westerns where the good guys always win.
His son was also amazing
RIP sir one of the best actors and speeches ever spoken. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. Pax+
Seeing this brings tears to my eyes. I find this very emotional. I have no words for it, sorry. It affects me too much.
This has to be one of the best films ever. But being a Yorkshireman been brought up in the 60s and 70s i might be a bit biased.
So so up setting😢😢
The best film everxx god blessxx ❤❤
From all the info I can gather, the cast were shocked at no further seasons so with that in mind I would assume Alex would have survived to fight another day but Claire died. The series which followed it died on it's ass, Peak practice deserved at least one more season.
At least a few more episodes to finish everyone’s stories.
Lovely to see an ALL WHITE Britain. Just as it used to be when we were happy on our small Island.
They left out the part where Danny turned around and walked back across the stage to get the prize.
Pete as well as Fred D, gone but not forgotten 😔
A terrible loss to lose Pete
I never realized it's Kramer's (Seinfeld) Dad!
From a ex miner, steel gone, docks gone, shipyards gone, mines gone, hope gone,we didn't want much, just a job and a good community to live in.30 years on look at the state of this country, hang your heads in shame westminster, but theres no shaming them.they dont give a toss.
Steven Spielberg called him the best actor he ever worked with. Praise doesn’t get much higher than that.
Came from the heart that's why!
Yes. And now, 11 years later, we see what the bloody tories are doing to the Working Man's Joy - the NHS. Soon be all private insurance, or if you can't pay, we'll take your house, just like in the old days. We may not be able to trust the Socialists/ Labour, but, by heck, the Tories are stealing or worth and self-respect from under our noses on the name of Profit for the Investors.
"The truth is I thought it mattered...I thought that music mattered"...The British 90s band Chumbawamba used this sample at opening of the song Tubthumper.
Best speech since Churchill.
Great film, shame it got spoilt at the end with the speech against the conservatives. Most people will not know that more pits were closed under Labour than any other governments!!!
Kramer if he mattered.
Proper Lancashire lad. RIP Pete Postlethwaite.
What a tribute to the British Brass Bands and the Community's that were effected by the mine closures. In a similar fashion the middle class in the States took it on the chin by a similar type of Administration and the middle class has become non-existant.
When an actor becomes that person you see a great actor. RIP. Ric from Oz 👦🇦🇺👍😎
Lovely film, and a poignant reminder of what we've lost. Not just a Queen, but a country.
Very nice...thanks
God bless you Pete
As a young child in 1983/84 I was made to visit my grandad here every Sunday. To be honest because I was only 10/11yrs old I found it extremely upsetting and frightening.its definitely something I have never forgotten 😢
That's Maggie O'Neill as Alex, not Saskia Wickham, who played Erica Matthews. Still, what a lame way to end what was a great show, got far fetched in the end and far removed to what it was like at the start with doctors Jack, Beth, Will, Andrew, Erica, David, Joanna, Sam, etc.
RIP Michel Roux Sr
So sad, anyone know the music to this
Moby - My Weakness.
Wow. Amazing speech. I also had no idea that this was where the intro to Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping" came from.
should have been named Hellmoor
please tell the story of the real Hollymoor
I used to live in Frankley near the hospital, remember as kids being told it was haunted
I don't recognise anyone cus they are all in their cells
That’s Maggie o neill not saskia
I actually believed he was telling me the truth that he was but believed it and not windfarm bollocks and was really anti coal and the people and places that the then government destroyed he may have taken the kings shilling for a payday but a liar
They could've had at least a better ending to this show. I just discovered it a few months back and got hooked but was a bit disappointed how they ended it. It was probably the worst endibg of any show I've watched ever. Anyway.
Me too!
I'm not sure if anyone knows but despite her obsessed love for Alex, why was Claire obsessed on wanting to be Alex herself?
I was sorry that Peak Practice ended always looked forward to 9pm on a Monday or Tuesday night.
Omg this is so weird I go to school here now
I remember at the time this aired I was like 😱😱😱😱 couldn't believe they ended it like that!
Last episode ... total bull cr--! After watching every episode from S1 to E! and this is how you losers end it. SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE! All those years. Damn!
Totally agree! I watched the show from beginning to end. It had interesting characters w good storylines. Even when a main character left n someone new came in, it infused the show with a new n different feel, whike keeping it at a high standard...until the end scene. What a horrible way to end it, you just dont do that!! Im not sure of behind the scenes goings-on, did the show expect to continue on but was cancelled after this aired? So not right for the fans who stuck with it thru the entire series run to have it end like this. Never see anything like it on any other program.
It's not Saskia Wickham, she left in series 5
I had forgotten how many film stalwarts were in this film. I saw it as soon as it was released. The second film was Hans and Lottie Haas Under the Red Sea. Thank you for giving this old woman a piece of nostalgia
A literal cliffhanger
I wish they released the rest of the series on dvd.
I’m doing a documentary on Hollymoor Hospital/old asylums in Birmingham. Would I be able to use this footage (and the other video) within the documentary please? Happy to discuss the project further with you. It’s really fascinating to see the area and what it was like. Brilliant!
Hello, did you/are you making this documentary ? My grandfather died there in 1936 and I'm trying to find out more about it and him.
@@annakardar7687 Hi Anna, I am in the process of making this still. I had to put it on hold from last year, but hoping to start picking up again soon. It would be interesting to get some details from you at some point if you'd be willing to contribute to the research?
