The person you're dealing with never did a water main in his life if he did not know what size of water main and tap is be careful using Jack legs for utilities or anything else you will pay more in the long run. 🌄🦍☮️🖤

Building a homestead is not magically cheaper if you are not doing the work yourself. It costs money to do a lot of what you are paying people to do. Honestly the water main stuff is cheap. The guy who dug your trench and found the water main is below cheap. Note you would have been held responsible if he had hit and broke the water main depriving all of your neighbors of water until a qualified crew could get out there and repair it. The water company would then have charged you a large fee for the repairs. Do they not use Digsafe where you are?

Having a well dug might have been cheaper with less hassle. I’m finding a lot of contractors will try to get over on you.
