Hola. Si, yo soy Panameña... nací en Chitré (la familia de mi mama son de Chitré/Las Tablas y de mi papa de la Cuidad). Tambien hablo español pero la razón por la que elegí hablar inglés en lugar de español para mis videos es porque hay muchos videos en TH-cam que explican la Pollera, sus accesorios y Panamá ya en español. No solo les estoy enseñando esto a otros Panameños, muchos de los que viven aquí en los EE. UU. o en otro paises que tienen hijos que tal vez no hablen español o un poquito, sino que también les estoy enseñando a personas de otros países a apreciar la cultura Panameña. Viviendo aqui en el estado de Washington, hay muchas gente que no saben nada de Panama, el Canal y tampoco donde esta Panama en una mapa.

Yes!!! Many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean are heavily influenced by Africa. Panama, where I'm from, definitely is and we celebrate it. ❤

You can order from Panama Stuffs on Facebook. It's run by Maria and lives in Panama and ships worldwide. I'm currently buying my new Pollera through her.

I personally don't know anybody who sells Polleras here in the US but I have bought mine from Maria from Panama Stuffs on Facebook. She lives in Panama but ships worldwide. Due to the pandemic though, she's temporarily closed.

You're welcome Kay. Panama is heavily influenced by the Caribbean as many came during the early 1900s to work on the building of the Panama Canal. My paternal great grandparents came from Barbados, Trinidad and Martinique and stayed in Panama after the completion of the canal.

Some Central American roots-- Panama, Nicaragua,,Honduras? Belize. etc.are from English Carribbean origins.
