David died on my 35th birthday it was the day United beat Palace 1-0 in the cup final replay Sir Alex Fergusons first of many trophies
@@bertcert991 I went in the pub a few times around the time he went in I wish I’d have known him I could have had a great conversation with him
Had the pleasure to have seen Nobby in his prime I met him at a sportsman’s dinner he admitted that he didn’t think he would have made it at United but for the disaster an absolute top man rest in peace.
I attended the service at Old Trafford in February 2023 and called in weaste cemetery after found the grave quite easily and was delighted to see flowers placed nice to see after 65 years Eddie hadn’t been forgotten
@@bertcert991 The babes are never forgotten Bert.. Eddies and Geoff Bents are always decorated around the anniversary of 58
Nobby was my favourite ever footballer

@@ianmaddams9577 same here Ian brings back memories of my childhood every time I go to North Wales..Thanks for watching ✌️
I learned the Gelert story in Primary School. It didn't help that my friend there had a dog called Gelert....when we were told the story, she cried for a week. Good to hear it again.
@@matparks08 Thanks for watching Matt..It’s a heartbreaking story but a beautiful place ✌️

Ive been in this area a couple of times. Blaenau Ffestiniog, Dolwyddelan, Betys y coed etc. May have passed through , i dont know but looks a belting village and a couple of pubs for me..cant beat a haunted boozer, nice one Steve👍🍺
@@SlurpyDave254 cheers for watching Dave..strangely most of the boozers around there are Robinsons houses…we dined on Dizzy blonde and unicorn while we were there 🍺
@theparadoxclub1326 they have about 300 pubs, 55 in Cumbria and about 40 in North Wales. JW Lees also prominent in N. Wales, 👍🍺 unicorn nice drop
Thanks for another interesting video Steve, what a sad story about the dog. That must have been very traumatizing for the owner, but glad that he honoured him with a lovely burial, and a statute. A very beautiful place for sure. 👍👍

I'm gutted we missed this when we went to the Dinorwig Hydro Power Tour what a fantastic place. Brilliant video and History Steve shame you the worst of the elements that day. Did you pick up on your senses while you were there? Definitively must be some residual energy there. Its strange even though it is abandoned it still has a sense of community there. on to the next see you there :) x
What a place! I feel like I've dreamt about it. Great video. Thank you 👍
@@kayevans2964 Thanks for watching Kay.. eerie place to walk around I’d love to do a live ghost hunt from there at some point x
Beryl always is remembered in the wrong way. Without Beryl, there would have been no George Formby. She made George tell his mother that she, Beryl, was pregnant, and that he had to marry her.
@@thebohemian. she managed his career and negotiated his contracts etc in a world dominated by men
We came across a village like this when walking down from Snowden many years ago - this does not look like the same as that one, but maybe my memory is just too old now, it was a long time ago around 1975 ! I don't remember a long row of houses like this, but they were stone cottages like this & above the lake, about half way down from the summit of Snowden. So is there another group of houses NOT in a row like this ??? Does anyone know ?
@@veronicaroach3667 Thanks for watching Veronica..yes there is another abandoned village towards snowdon…we were going to go there but this one was on our to do list first x
Brilliant video such a beautiful place ❤
@@carolinetaylor7600 Thanks for watching imagine it full of life with kids and women men coming home all dirty after a hard day mining the slate x
Absolutely loved this one Steve . I know this place well and have been there few times when I lived in north wales. And it has an amazing atmosphere… Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
@@ianmaddams9577 nice one mate thanks for watching. We stayed in Beddgelert so wasn’t to far from it it’s a place we wanted to visit for ages 👍
@@theparadoxclub1326 funny story . I once got lost with a family in the forest I was supposed to take on a mountain bike tour 🙈 Not my finest hour as an instructor 🤣
@@theparadoxclub1326 I lived in Cwm pennant. In converted mill It was part of the Bryncir estate and had the ruined remains of the mansion in the grounds….
@@ianmaddams9577 oh wow that’s awesome…I love north wales it’s a place we went on holiday when I was a kid and I love going back..we were going to move there at one point ..I’d love to now!…
Just imagine, on a warm sunny day, the kids all outside playing, the Women hanging out the laundry, the Men coming home, late in the evening.

We have a few places like this dotted around the island but this a huge on a massive scale. Its only just over 50 years since it was abandoned. The row of cottages are impressive. Excellent vid Steve👍👌
@@SlurpyDave254 cheers Dave not a pub in sight either🤔..we picked a horrible day to go as well gale force winds but the dry before we was in T-shirts in Portmeirion only a few miles away 🍺😎

That's for sure, the miners work long and grueling hours. Sad to see the decline of a place. So much history in the place, it just says it all. Thanks again Steve for a very informative video.
