Yikes. As an avid food plotter with lots of soybean experience, I wouldn't be as happy as you are with how that field looks. Very sparse, thin bean germination... looks like HEAVY weed competition that is pretty tall now to rely on glyphosate. The part about the rye doesn't make sense either. You'd never be able to time a spraying that would allow rye to "fill in" as any sort of strategy technique. Just some casual observations... What population rate did you broadcast at?

Please try a test plot in the future with regular dry deer corn it grows the exact same for wayyy less money. Roundup resistant and all. Responds great to nitrogen and fertilizer. These big corporations are getting richer. Im spreading the love to everyone to buy shelled corn from your local row crop farmer instead of seed companies. If it was my family's lives on the line and i had to feed them I'd buy seed corn for planting. Definitely not deer hunting though. Nice video bro

lbs per acre depends on kernals per lb. It varies among varieties. Also, unless too wet always pack the soil after disking and that will lock in the moisture. In most cases a lawn roller works better than most cultipackers.

I do kinda of the cheap plot also, I have a compact tractor & I found an old disc in the woods where I live. I spread the corn like you, then pull the 10ft disc on the corn, so I disc the ground from last year, then I throw the corn down & disc again. works pretty good for me too. I use about 10lbs of RR corn per half acre from E-Bay..

2 1/2 quarts of seed per quarter acre, mix it with 50lbs of Urea and spread it in an ATV spreader. You don't want to over seed corn as it will stunt the growth from competition and you wont get any cobs. Your plot turned out good, thanks for sharing.

If you have vigorous clover, the annuals and grasses actually provide support for the clover. Without any support, they eventually fall over from weight or a rain storm and lose that bushy structure. Other annuals, like buckwheat or wheat/rye are an excellent addition.

I watched the whole thing, but yeah like others I gotta agree that the near 40 second intro is probably preventing retention. These days I prefer a short intro or none at all except for maybe a title card. Long intro videos either have the intro skipped or just closed and forgotten.

I've been thinking about doing a corn plot on my farm it's near a lot of agriculture, but It's all hay ground /alfalfa. I have 80 acres around 40 is alfalfa. I could probably get an acre or two on field edges. Think corn would be my best bet or anything else come to mind?

Use same method with success. After disc to follow up with lawn roller to pack seed into soil.

Depends on how far into the woods you went. If it’s under a mile off a trail it’s more than likely a hunter. Especially if there aren’t any other bones around because those get packed out after a hunt.
