    How do you like that 474? I thinking about one. Most youtube videos about them seem to be sponsored by TYM showing zero issues or problems but forums seem to be mixed about poor dealer support and parts availability. Just wondering how yours has been. Thanks for the video.

    • @BuddyG54
      @BuddyG54 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love my 474. It's a great machine. That said I have had a couple problems along the way. But nothing any other tractor brand hasn't had. The first thing the day it was delivered, it wouldn't get hot enough to defrost its own windows. Turns out there was an air bubble in the coolant line in the roof. I drained and refilled the cooling system and it's been fine ever since. Then it wouldn't regenerate but after contacting my dealer, he was aware of an issue and overnighted me the wiring harness piece to fix the issue. Simple plug and okay fix. It's only needed to regen once in 166 hours. I just found a new issue yesterday, that may be a larger deal, and I'll be contacting the dealer tomorrow to inquire about how big of a problem it is and what to do about it. I'll probably make a video showing the journey. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. Feel free to stay in contact. This is my 3rd tractor in about 20 years. I'm glad to share what I can to help make sure you get a good one. I appreciate you. Greg

    If you are going JD then be prepared to pay exorbitant prices for parts related to maintenance. I do not know how farmers can make a living with this gouging that is going on. And asked the big farmers how it is going with the Proprietary JD software. Another gouging point. Here is a story for you, true story, farmer got a "warning code" show up on his dash, phones local dealer who advises him to phone JD directly because they can not identify the code. So he phones JD and they advise for them to identify the code for him they require $150.00. So he give them his credit card. The code says "take tractor in for dealer maintenance". Last word was his, he was so pissed off at JD that he took the tractor in and traded it for a competitors. Believe it or not. Your choice.

    I really hope your John Deere dealer has a better warranty service. I had a hood latch break free from my 1025R (25 hours and 4 months old). I called my Florida dealer to confirm it was covered under warranty. They said yes. Instead of taking the whole tractor in, I removed the hood and went to the dealer. Now the dealer said I voided the warranty for doing service myself. I was pissed. But luckily, I called my old dealer from when I lived in Indiana, and they said send the hood to them and they would cover it. I got a brand-new hood and they even picked up the cost of shipping.

      Let me share an awful JD dealer story. A friend of mine bought a used 60ish hp Deere with a factory cab. Tractor had over 1000 hours on it. Immediately was hard to start. Deere dealer came and hauled it back to their shop. Dealer ended up rebuilding the engine at zero cost to my friend. The tractor had over 1000 hours on it. Most people who bad mouth Deere are simply not willing to pony up the $. BTW, why wasn't the oil changed before 100 hours when the cost of materials is minimal? The tractor was obviously used in dusty conditions .

      @@scottnugent4791 I'm not sure. It's not my tractor. My understanding is the dealer did the 50hr stuff. As you can see, the air filter was the only thing in poor condition. Yeah I have a better funnel around here somewhere. As you may have noticed my place is pretty cluttered right now. Winter is always bad for clutter around here with so many things going in the garage because it's heated. This TH-cam thing came up quick after being inspired by a few of the youtubers we met in Louisville at the National Farm Machinery Show last month. I jumped in with both feet. I'm mostly retired so I should have my stuff together by summer. I hope. LOL! Thank you for talking your time to watch and comment. Much appreciated.

      @@BuddyG54 yeah one step at a time. I just moved most of my stuff and have a long way to go on organization. Remember. A cluttered desk is the sign of a genious. I didn't notice but it can't be worse than mine 😆

      I needed a smaller open station tractor for this video series because my TYM cab tractor won't fit in my garage. My buddy offered me his for a while, so I'll do my service outside the garage on the TYM when our weather improves, and take care of his Deere in the garage out of the weather now. Thank you for commenting and watching!

      10-4, and one that isn't such a pain in the butt. You can bet that if that thing flows hydraulic fluid as slow as motor oil, I'll be cutting that little screen out! Thanks for commenting and watching!
