Awesome job. I've seen some built before but this looks better! Great instructions and tips. I see the ram board for templating too! No corrugated cardboard! Thank god!
Thank you yes ram board should work well although its very pricey for a roll of card board 😂
@Papasshed yeah I've always avoided it! If you've got room, roll it out on the floor and walk on it and bit. Makes it easier to work with and stops it trying to roll back up
Nice job and well explained, now I might get around to mine. Thanks.
@@TheOldaz1 thank you , it should be well worth the effort
Cool truck
The wheels and spacers work really well, looks great.
So Ive always just cut the the required firewall and pieces out of the donor to mount steering column and brake pedal set up too m8 Good work just keep going 👍
If it doesn't fit the trailer you'll have to build a tilt tray!
@@1one3_Racing 🤣 tilt tray would be a dream
Whay engine is in that? It's not a ZD30
@@1one3_Racing vg30 for now and will do engine conversion once i have funds
the stance is looking nice, just put the skinny's on for the trailer rides to the track! have a great day
@@clintcooper9195 thanks im happy with the look i actually think the body is wider then the trailer aswell
Geez mate , that Nissan had better of been cheap. There's nothing much left of it.
@@johnhamilton5478 yea it was i chose this option because it meant i have all the parts to put it back together
I like your approach to the metal work. Supporting the piece with offcuts to get it lined up was pretty smart
@@StreetMachine18 thanks anything to make the job easy that’s why i have so many different types of clamps
The rims are Sweet!! The project is coming along Nicely!!!
@@upclass7179 thank you
Hi Papas, take it you in good spirit and health Very impressive content, you should have a look at "Rat Rods For Africa " a channel created by the genius Diff, situated in Mosselbay, South Africa 🇿🇦 He done a project on a Hudson swop, he named it "Flytrap" excellent job 👍 Keep on with the good work 💯%🙏 Love & Respect from Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, South Africa 🇿🇦
Hey thank you i am actually subscribed to rat rod of Africa I enjoy watching his builds
look a an Audi q7 2nd row seat. use it as a bench seat.
@@MrMrSneekypete thanks for the suggestion ill check them out
good work man...shes coming along
Thankyou, im determined to get it driving soon even if its just in the backyard
I put an LS2 in a D40. There was a guy in Townsville? I think? Who made adaptor plates to the Navara trans. It smashed rear axles and front diffs like crazy so I sold it.
You've gotten more views in 3 weeks than I have in 3 months! You're doing something interesting though. I'm building a really slow and really crappy race car!
@@1one3_Racing iv always want to try youtube and have decided to do it without any expectations
Looking good.
@@timcoppinger3373 thank you
Hi where did you get your wheels and tyres from Cheers 🍻 Justin
@@patriciajustin-v8i hey wheels were off market place and are the reason i started this build 🤣 and tyres are off tyroola
keep up the good work, it looks great, have a great day
@@clintcooper9195 Thankyou
Really good, them wheels are killer, are you going to trim down the guards? Brilliant project.
@@timcoppinger3373 not sure yet i want to get the important stuff out of the was as far as the fab work then ill set up the look
loose the chipmunk music
Think I would chop the top corners of the Nav firewall and see if you can move the cab a bit more forwards - probably have to lose the rear cab mounts as well. When I get to doing similar, I won't need/want the cab as low as mine will be 4x4. Still using my Nav ATM, but not for much longer. I think the Commer is a good choice for the cab being so short between the front wheels and the cab.
@@TheOldaz1 i had the commer and bought the navara to original plans was also a 4x4 using patrol chassis and make it a daily driver but have decide to go low and wide use for some track events
Cool helmet with ventilation! Good work, it’s funny how quickly things snowball on a project like this. Nice thing is your family is involved.
Thanks the adflo welding helmet is great I’m very blessed to have a family that’s has the same passion
Sweet build.
try keeping the floor pan but get rid of the firewall section just relocate the chassis mounts for the floor to suit the position of the cab on the chassis is how i would go about it
@@GeeenJ thanks for the idea , i was trying to retain the fire wall more than anything so I didn’t have to remount the pedals , steering column and heater core the floor will be a quick and easy build re mounting the other stuff is going to take some time
@@Papasshedit looks like you could profile the firewall to fit the cab. It may be less work than making a new one.
@ i will look into using as much as i can from the navara but i dont want to get caught spending to much time problem solving and issue that i could probably overcome by building new
thats gonna be awesom
Amazing job 👏 waiting for more cool videos 😂😂
Good try m8 ... there’s some really serious hrs work in the old truck cab swaps hey I’ve done 2 but have never tried keeping floor fire wall wanted keep old school dash set up ...750 plus hrs blood sweat and swearing 😂 just keep at it you’ll get it sorted ...cheers
Thanks i was rather hopeful ill be getting some steel next week and keep making progress
Cool
Nice work...keep it up
@@cristiancunanan9637 thank you
I did something very similar with a 1949 Ford F1 on an Explorer AWD chassis. Kept the firewall and floor of the explorer intact and it worked pretty well. Looking forward to part 2.
@@TheSuburbanGardener that was the idea to save having to redesign all the components
very interesting and clever swap, great patina, looking forward to see part two
