Every Christian is a Counselor | Greg E. Gifford, PhD
The Scripture teaches that the church is the primary place for care. That means that Christians are the ones responsible to offer counsel. Not pastors. Not specialists. The body of Christ is where we go for help and care. In this session, I'll show you--from the Scripture--where we are to offer counsel as believers in the local church.

Harnessing Technology and Social Media for God’s Glory | Greg E. Gifford, PhD
มุมมอง 1142 หลายเดือนก่อน
The power of social media is significant for both much glory to God and much evil. Christians shouldn't run from technology, but should seek to harness it for the glory of God and the sharing of the Gospel. In this session, I help share ideas on how to be on technology for the glory of God. Greg E. Gifford drgifford.org
Book Review: "Remaking the World" by Andrew Wilson | Greg E. Gifford

A newer book, released in 2023 by Crossway, Andrew Wilson has completed a massive work on how the year 1776 has contributed to a WEIRDER world. He uses the "weirder" acronym to describe western, educated, industrialized, rich, democratic, ex-Christian, and romantic. Each of his chapters support this acronym and rubric for understanding the world. Check our my brief review. 4/5 Stars. Worthy rea...

The Pitfall of Being an Impure Man
มุมมอง 1054 หลายเดือนก่อน
Men are called to be pure in a way that is unique to manhood. Treat women with the purity that they desire because you love Jesus. The call to purity as a man is who you want to be, and the only way that will happen is through the eyes of faith (Heb. 11:6). To be a man of purity is, by God's design, better than giving into our sinful desires.
The Pitfall of Anger as a Man
มุมมอง 1274 หลายเดือนก่อน
Men are called to be patient, gentle, and not led by our anger. It is possible for anger to be righteous (Eph. 4:26), but we can often be led by our anger. Angry men are unmanly men. We are to be slow to anger, or patient. Able to put up with difficulties and the annoyances of life. Please join me in session two of a three part series in pitfalls of masculinity.
Pitfalls in Biblical Masculinity: Controlling or Passive Men
มุมมอง 2514 หลายเดือนก่อน
God's plan is for men to use their strength to give to others, not use their gifts to attempt to control others. We are to be men of initiative, we are not passive men. In this first session, I touch on how pursuing gentleness and initiative squash being controlling and passive in our relationships.
What Inspires us, As Men?
มุมมอง 835 หลายเดือนก่อน
Men are inspired by greatness, not mediocrity. Yet, what prevents us from being the men that inspire us? What contributes to us NOT being the men we wanted to be as 10-year-olds? Join me in this session as I remind men of what inspires them and how to be that man.
What Prevents Us From Being the Men that Inspire Us?
มุมมอง 1005 หลายเดือนก่อน
If we really do want to be men of greatness, what stops us? We must identify what contributes to mediocrity and how do we break up environments where mediocrity can thrive.
The Character Traits of a Godly Man with Q&A
มุมมอง 985 หลายเดือนก่อน
What inspires us as men are godly men of character. You want to be the man God wants you to be: courageous, pure, honorable to women, gentle, hard working, and taking initiative. That's who you dreamed of being as a 10-year-old. In this session, I connect the dots to a portrait of godly masculinity.

A Savior Focused Sanctification (Greg E. Gifford, PhD)
มุมมอง 1947 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hebrews teaches us that we are to lay aside our sin and focus on our Savior. Yes, to repent of sin and run from it is part of sanctification (Eph. 4:22). But the focus of our sanctification is not our sins, its Jesus, our Savior. When you meditate on your sins, you sin more. When you meditate on your Savior, you grow in conformity to His image. Let 2 Corinthians 3:18 remind you that transformat...

As someone who was diagnosed with ocd, adhd, gad, c-ptsd, I can confidently say that the only cure for me was the truth and the promises of the Bible. All those "illnesses" fell away as I stopped leaning into my identity, and clung to who God says I am to Him!

Great biblical stuff! Just finishing up reading your book "Helping your Family through PTSD". I want to share it with a former co-worker. It has been very informative and encouraging in our Lord. I had one question from page 81 - what is a VA? There were a few short forms I wasn't sure... figured out AP must be Accountability Partner.
