I had a childhood friend who lived on Springer Street in Royal Oak, Mich. One night we noticed the one-single, kinda' barnhouse lookin' house on the street was having a party. We were too young to drink, and atta' kinda' age where u don't really want to draw attention to yourself. The night was thus uneventful, but definitely more entertaining than our usual 13 yr old lives. For some reason, I remember that being the house of one of the guys in Weapons. Maybe I just wanna remember it that way. If you like this, check the other detroit metal acts from this era: "Headbangers Rule" song by Seduce, "Cheap Thrill Looks" by The Almighty Strut, "Time to Move" by Bitter Sweet Alley and the entire album "Don't Metal with Evil" by Halloween. Chad from RHCP was in Detroit band Toby Redd, and Ugly But Proud (see "Death Clowns") used to open for national thrash acts at Blondie's bar. (Also to the Conneticut and New York people claiming you heard Weapons on the radio, plz stop. If Weapons was selling records in 3 states instead of just Michigan, well, maybe someone besides a 13 year old party crasher would remember them.)

I was there when this video was put together in the big room at the convent. Creating this took forever back those days, using the old manual process of playing through one video player and recording into another. The audio used was the demo recorded at SA-FM's studio. It was first aired on that station's Jukebox Jury show in June 1987, where John and Bob gave their thoughts on the music up for review at the time. Great days.
