Remove and Replace Liquid Tank Bullhead connector Part 2
This is me getting a broken bulkhead connector removed from a 6 foot high water storage tank . Used a length of pulling string for electrical wire . Made sure that loose ends were tied off . A short pieces of conduit used to pull the broken bulkhead connector out of the tank

Air Hose connection and air impact tools

This is what i suggest to you regarding air impact tools and air hose connection . My experience on the effects of impact tools on hose connections is they damage the male end by causing the locking balls to wear the male end to the point wear it does not hold.

No wonder so many of my fathers friends who served in REME during WWII had bad backs and missing fingers.

How much oil I end up putting two quarts and seems more than full.
i guess you don`t realize , the K& N filter i installed had about 1/4 to 1/2 inch taller than regular John Deere filter , so it take more oil to get it ti the proper full mark . Also I had a partial container of oil from last year .
@@45NUTS_PART_DEUX it wasn’t clear from my earlier comment. I was actually asking how much oil should I put in my x360 I end up putting two quarts and it seems overfilled drained some out but is there an actual listed amount how much it takes?
@@emperorsanders5744 from the on-line manual foe x300 series IMPORTANT: Do not overfill. Some residual oil could remain in engine after draining. Overfilling can cause smoking, hard starting, fouling of spark plug, and oil saturation of air filter. Add oil slowly and stop to check oil level every few ounces to avoid overfilling. Add oil no higher than FULL mark on dipstick. Do not overfill. X300, X304 and X310: Begin with approximately 1.7 L (1.8 qt). X320, X324 and X360: Begin with approximately 2.1 L (2.2 qt). manuals.deere.com/omview/OMM173266_19/?tM=
Do you have a video of replacing the deck belt on the x360 I can’t figure it out thanks
No , it was a struggle to route the belt around one of the idler pulley that had a anti-kick out bracket and i had to look at the belt diagram in the manual to make sure i was putting it on right .
Those are a really nice tractor, and the changeable tranny filter and fluid is the best feature. Im lookin at 2 different models an x310 i found for $2200 and an x360 i gound for $2600. Both are in about the same condition with between 300 and 400 hours on them. Id live the x360,but its almost a 3 hour drive from me. Ive still got a couple days ti decide. Hopefully something will come of it. Thanks for sharing these videos.
Great info !
Oil looked clean to me.
Even back then WTF can't people back them up into position.Try backing up a old TJ skidder bucket and trailer,it's a lot harder to do than that stupid little trailer. On the TJ skidder bucket you had to keep an eye on the boom that stuck out over the front as it would go the opposite direction you want to turn. Then the trailer was another trick and you had to keep an eye on all of it. Once you done it awhile it was easy.....and the steering on the TJ was stick, not a big steering wheel...lol How about farmers that have balers and wagons...... Hell of a lot of work detaching that trailer (even though it's a pintle hitch)and then reattaching it to the front, then detaching and reattaching it to the rear.......must be a Britts "better idea" like that recovery SNAFU along with the "NCO" standing beside the winch cables under load...especially that kinked (damaged) cable.
Thanks for using our STA-BIL Storage fuel stabilizer! We apprecaite it!
There's no way I would have posted this oil change and embarrassed myself this way. I mean this is bad....really bad
I would be embarrassed by commenting on something I don`t do , like post making video`s .
@@45NUTS_PART_DEUX if I did they couldn't have been any worse than yours but you missed the point entirely. It wasn't your ability to make a video it was the sorrowful way you accomplished the task at hand. Make all the videos you like but you have very little mechanical skills. Nobody is gonna argue that point.
Let me get drunk so I can understand this better
🤣
I sent my mother to John Deere to get transaxle oil to do the trans oil change and they told her she didn’t need it because it’s a closed system, so now I have to go back and purchase it myself and boy are they gonna get a earful. So angry
ya your a bit right , one certain model they are a " so called sealed system " but if you have Tuff Torq transmission , they make a transmission stand and kit available to allow those sealed systems to be converted to drain-able ttransmissions , their also internal filters that my have to be changed . Taryl Fix all - th-cam.com/users/TarylFixesAll . has several videos on how to service " so called sealed Transmission " by Tuff Torq . My case John Deere has , or had , a 20 day no question return policy and the we exchanged the lawn mower for the X360. Our previous lawn mower was a John Deere 160 , and had a Peerless grease lubricated transmission and it fell apart . we found on E-bay on a end of stock clear out sale and picked up for $800 .
Is this the K58 transmission? I have a X390 I want to service the transmission soon
your transmission is a Kanzaki K58 so best to go to John deere for parts
thats 15 minutes of my life ill never get back
The tires/tyres are mounted for pulling with the front of the tractor, not the rear like a farm tractor. Seems to not be correct.

Hmmmm... I wonder which bright spark had the idea of training REME airborne units in tank recovery? Because perhaps I'm missing something, but airborne units in WW2 had no tanks because planes couldn't transport them. Moreover, planes couldn't transport the huge Scammel tractors needed in tank recovery either.... so let's make a training film about such an impossibly unrealistic situation. What can we say?.... Thank God for the Navy.... unless, of course, it was all part of a cunning plan (of the Baldrick variety) to let the training film fall into enemy hands so that they might believe that we actually could airlift such vehicles. Incidentally, my uncle joined REME at the beginning of WW2 as a 2nd Lieutenant and ended up as a full Colonel, (temporary Brigadier and reputed to be the youngest in the British Army) specialising in ... tank recovery, repair and refurbishment in battle zones. Unless my uncle was a genius, such rapid promotion can only have come about because REME was useless at it the beginning of the war, don't you think?
My grandad, Craftsman E A Powell was in the REME at this time. He was great at his job but I can’t help thinking there would have been less running and more tea and cigarettes.
Brilliant, great bit of Nostalgia.
Boy that knowledge will come in handy, the next time my Mom jumps the track and ditches her captured German Panther.
Love the bit where its handed back to the crew....
interesting the 1945 use of the word "casualty" in describing a boged tank?, as this is not a first aid refference to the victim.
I've never seen any workers run like this these boys mean business
Nothing says 'piddler' like pegboard-
Good video, imagine having all that tackle. I'd love to have one of those tuck/tractors l. And one know what they had for an engine?
The later version I had in the early 1970's had a 10 ltr Meadows Petrol engine , very slow running ,6 speed gear box . We normally moved off in 3 rd gear when not towing . Think it did about 5 miles to the gallon UK , the clutch was prone to slipping, the best method to alleviate that was to spray it from underneath with the pyrene fire extinguisher. A marvelous truck full of character and a joy to drive .
My wife was considering buying one of these for our recovery firm Scammell Tow services.. but things got a bit tight ....🙄
I'm not a combat engineer, or a tanker, but I was a forward observer in both lav 25, and M1 Abrams. Not much has changed when it comes to this stuff tbh.
Great stuff. I'm not sure exactly how the holdfasts work, but it looks as if a big load (4/5 of the total) is taken by steel rods driven into the ground. I can imagine situations where this would not work, either because the ground is too soft, or where it is rocky.
There are more pins driven into the ground, they only showed the first one.
If I were rich.....I'd be collecting old English vehicles. They're creative, interesting, and I love them...
But Rich, you are rich. 🤣 Also, I have a 70’s Military One Ton Landrover. Built on the same principles as these wartime behemoths but can be used as a daily drive. As long as you’ve got a set of spanner’s and don’t mind knuckles tattooed with grease. About 7000€ so not that expensive.
@@colinsavill3459 that would be worth a small fortune out here.
I find these videos fascinating. Take simple technology add a firm understanding of physics mix with a bit of work smart and the job is done. I always find it funny how much direction they want the crew to give the driver. You'd swear they think he can't see out his windows.
A "Snatch block" means something totally different today. 🤣😂 "Snatch blocker" or "🐓" blocker.
I love old training films or films explaining tactical and strategic operation, or showing new military equipment and technologies. They simply don't make em like this anymore.
Good work if you can get it. hahaha
They sure do a lot of running !
And this shows why they made the M88 Recovery Vehicle. All that manual labor and time when a recovery vehicle can brute force armor recovery. Everything is heavy and put it in mud and its worse. All the tanks I saw recovered were in deep mud or sand
For all the criticism of the M1 carbine, it would beat the hell out of a sten!
Yeah if you like comparing apples and turnips it makes sense I suppose.
@@ThePaulv12 looks like they give stens to support troops here. Which is the exact reason for the M1 carbine.
Awesome vehicle, Scammell are in my top 10 best trucks of all time Very nice 👍 Thank you for showing
How about a Soviet (Ukrainian) flying truck. As simple and flies as slowly as a truck drives: th-cam.com/video/z7I3Illsuqg/w-d-xo.html
25:16 Seems odd to be waving your hands around in excitement.
Jeez, you’d have to be well strong to do all of this!
Keep these coming please...almost makes me want to ditch a tank just to pull it out.
How did they make the two ends meet? I noticed they cut that bit..But great old school recovery ..
My physics tells me it is a 4:1 but I could be wrong.
Isn't it the number of rope lines? Four times diverted means five pulling lines.
You are wrong. There are 5 cables taking the load.
Clever arrangement
I would do this , it would be an interesting experience.
Five minutes later Drive gets stuck in a next ditch 🤦♂️
I am surprised that they don't have a A-Frame so to speak ( sky hook) that can come up by winch power. Just saying with all this other heavy haul manual labor intensive work. The boom seems to be straight out of bed of front truck( what ever British call front truck) why they did not make them lower to ground on trailer All heavy hauls are ( low boys) but I was not even though about being born when they made this so what do I know about British heavy hauls recovery. Interesting to watch from back then.
Thanks, neat to see.
My Uncle was in the REME , he later opened his own Garage ..in time he aquired one of these Monsters for his breakdown , it was a total monster of a unit.
