I loved feral😭 animal jam itself has gotten so bad, no matter how many times I reset my password my acc gets hacked and it’s just annoying. The trade system is also horrible. Feral was at least fun and I got more interaction with other players, like actual conversations which made it even more enjoyable.

It's always sad to see a company so thoroughly disrespect its community. I don't think Wildworks is realizing just how much they're hurting themselves in the long run. Do they really think people are going to invest time and money into any future projects they announce when they showed with both Feral and Cinder that they'll just shut it all down in a heartbeat, ignore their community, refuse to communicate, and pretend it never happened? There's going to be an air of uncertainty to anything they make from here on out. Reputation takes years to build and a moment to destroy.

I miss Feral so much, I loved it playing it on my I pad before bed and waking up in the morning to see my avatars and friends

I remember joining Feral as soon as I got access to it, which was pretty early I think. (I wasn't invited i just saw it on the appstore) I was there when character decals were put behind a paywall... But the ones on my avatar still stuck on. I felt special lol The game's art direction really attracted me; it felt cool and mystical and mysterious... I wish it was in better hands.

I remember staying the whole three hours before the shutdown and for some reason I was even able to stay on the game for several minutes after the shutdown was supposed to occur. Eventually I just logged out and forgot about the game. This video gave me very bittersweet memories.

I miss Feral so much, The NFT switch was such a slap in the face.

The last part about making an active effort to avoid AJ/Feral is so real 😭😭 I’ve been avoiding AJ for years because of how betrayed I felt over this incident despite wanting to indulge in that nostalgia so bad. As much as I wanna pick AJ up again to relive childhood memories, I can’t ever forget how wrong it was for WildWorks to just abandon a dedicated fanbase like that. I still can’t believe that the money I spent on Feral and the time I spent as a closed beta tester likely all went towards developing a freaking NFT game.

i played it like a lil bit in 2021 for a good couple days, i remember having so much fun with the customization options and running around all the areas with my friends!! the blood water in the snowy place and the atmosphere of the different maps was so cool to me, good video ;_;

What if a group of actual ethical developers came together and opened the game up but this time made it better and without an actual turd running the whole thing?

I love how one of the season pass quests were to take screenshots in different areas, if they never implemented that i’d never have as much screenshots of the game as i do This was such a well made video, and i love every clip, the irl ones were definitely my favorite 💖

Feral suffered from what a number of games suffer from, chasing trends with a higher management that only cares about money numbers. They had figured out the perfect niche age for people leaving AJ but had no new game that could fit them. And they used mythological figures as the avatars which are extremely popular with all ages, I personally got in the Alpha/Closed Beta for the Kitsune after seeing the promo art. But the worlds being weirdly split like KH, the queens doing some sort of news broadcast like Splatoon idols, and the likes system mimicking social media with very little else made for a pretty boring game. Especially since even though they recognized this void for games of an age, they played Feral like AJ and started with Mini-Games and Just Chatting... which for some like myself, gets boring fast. Having an actual storyline is far more important the older the audience, and it was crumbs compared to what AJ started with. I also never liked how the items your character could wear always floated, I get it being needed in the case of size customization, but it just looked so off. Especially the items that were just a tiny thing with no connector, but floating in the void.

Man i loved fer.al so much. I was out of AJ's age demographic by the time I got on the internet, but I was with fer.al from the very start, and loved it the whole time. It got me through some rocky times when my physical health was rough. It felt like a home, a place I could express myself and escape from my situation IRL. And then it had to close down on March 26th. My literal, actual birthday. What the hell! Sometimes I jump on the emulator, emuferal, and run around nostalgically. But man, having one of my favorite games shut down was the worst birthday present ever.

They traded away the untapped potential of Fer.al's four-legged creatures for generic humans and a pyramid scheme. This is what happens when you forfeit moral integrity for greed.

Weird to think such a lovely-looking set of games and their communities I was never aware of imploded so long ago from such horrific decisions that to some they remember it like it was yesterday before the shutdown happened, I simply stumble upon the ruins of wondering how I'd missed it when it used to be alive. Kudos to bringing something like this to my attention. Hope Tower Unite and VR Chat don't go the same way.

God as an alpha tester this feels like it happened decades ago not 3 years ago

i put quite a lot of time into feral... i got really good at the lockpick minigame and that one bird themed matching game... the sound effects were super addicting

I hope that we get a game like AJ classic x play wild x Feral. I've really missed the community and the creativity. There really is no game like it at the moment. I loved making den maps, making my +400 animals and such. I didn't play much of feral cuz it barely run on my old PC but had fun with friends on it for the little it was stable. I really hope that one day the AJ and Feral communities find a new game to play together that will be even better than those and go beyond to make the right choices for the game and it's future
