Nice video Pendle is a bit of your area but nice up there, similar to a spot i fly at at times on Keighley moor
@@julianhumphrey4843 hi Julian, thought you had stopped flying??
@@terrymurphy562 not giving up completely but dont fly very often now
Great video terry , best place to fly so lucky to have this on my doorstep some cracking flights been had up there
@@mcmediaandfilm glad you enjoyed it, it took me about 45 mins for me to get to it from Preston. It is a great place and will defo be going back.
@terrymurphy562 it's a top place mate , was up there only last week on the other end of Pendle
@ it is a top place. We are doing the other side of Pendle Hill on our next trip out there. Lovely place.

Poor Penguin, they aren't speedsters! :)

that’s pretty good 👍

Nice one Terry. Is it me or was the speed/smoothness a touch off on this one? Normally the Peanut footage is spot on.

nice flight and smart looking rc car race track
This is where they sometimes hold the championships for the car racing.
You hammered that battery man! Or was it a a Lithium? Great flight as always
@@blackbirdboy1 it was the 4500 lithium-ion pack. Nice batteries.
@@terrymurphy562 You were pulling 15A after you had pulled over 2000mah and it still idn't sag that much. Impressive. Molicel's?
@@blackbirdboy1 ye Molicells and they hold up well. I think average speed was about 63mph as well. Really good set up on the penguin. Brods penguin is also an Excellent set up. Very similar and thought out by Brod.
@@terrymurphy562 You two do seem to buy the same models. That's a good thing. If you both fly the same model with pretty much the same set up, then flight times should be close, so you can follow each other easier. Though I will say the chaser nearly always uses more battery following. Especially if you get close behind in there prop-wash.
@@blackbirdboy1 ye in all fairness Brod has these models before I get them, when I see his set up and how efficient his plane are then it makes sense to go with that set up. The penguin is identical but the funjet was exactly the same but Brod a slightly different prop on his. I need a similar set up to be able to keep up with him. Prop wash will defo make you use more battery for sure and you are more on the sticks as well. At times my plane is about 4 or 5 feet behind.
great sunset shots buddy..
What are battery you are used. I seen 20 V (means 6S) who many capacity? what type motor you are used? What full setup? who many fly you did with this setup?
@@pavelgurenchuk2225 it is stock setup using a 5s lipo, had around 10 flights.
Очень много аккумуляторов на борту. Похоже на сваливание по ветру, хотя видно, что до этого вы летели по ветру. Может ветер изменился с изменением высоты. Почему вы не используете режим ANGLE или HOR?

Liking the location you're flying from. Did you have to ask North West Nitro for permission?
@@Caroline_Tyler we share the land with North west Nitro and a fishing club. Only have a limited amount of members on here. Nice location 10 mins from home.
@@terrymurphy562 Would love to join you for a flight or two
@@Caroline_Tyler why not, I can have a word about it with the other members about the ability to fly on the grounds. If there’s a problem with that then there are places close by we could fly at. I look forward to it.
nice video the dart looks locked in, is this a new penguin,i think my penguin is now obsolete really dont think i will carry on flying, i bought alpha strike and dont see me even flying it
Hi Julian, my Penguin is the latest Penguin, really like the way it flys. Real easy plane to throw in the Air and so nice to fly. Why won’t you fly the Alpha strike?
@@terrymurphy562 Im about done with flying, i got the alphastrike to see if i can get a bit of interest but clearly not. Not flown a plane in nearly a year
@@julianhumphrey4843 it does sound like your flying days have come to an end.
Baby looks pretty smooth, shame no sunshine..
No sunshine but it looks like I needed a light Nd filter as the sky is fairly bright. Weird sky.
@@terrymurphy562 yes did look a bit washed out,can you not adjust white balance on runcam.
@@abc-ku3rx you can but I would normally just put an Nd filter on and it sorts it out.
Worth watching if even just to listen to New Order. had me at first a little with the long intro, but just knew it had to be. MoliCell's the New Old cells have come back good fashion. I bet I've got that really old pack off Brod somewhere from 20+ years ago.
@@flyingtonyw yes a catchy tune Tony. I bet the molicells are a long way on from those from 20 years ago. 45amps and the latest ones are 50amps. They are the best batteries to have I think.
Nicely done 👍
Very hard to see without the OSD at the end, but looks a bit like on the last turn for the RTH it was going too slow combined with a steep angle / slow airspeed and then it stalled. (also if there is a tailwind this effect gets even worse as slows down the effective airspeed) . So its vital that the advanced nav settings are such that the plain can maintain proper airspeed during a RTH. for INAV these are typicaly : nav_fw_cruise_thr (most important) nav_fw_climb_angle nav_fw_dive_angle nav_pitch2thr nav_fw_pitch2thr_threshold nav_fw_pitch2thr_smoothing
@@tachyonpost1472 thanks for the input, it looks like a stall but I have had Rth a few times on the plane and it responded very well. When the plane turned to come home and went into failsafe, the plane was pointing into wind although a very light wind. I was very surprised it done this. I will have a good think about the settings.
@@terrymurphy562 Yeah its a pitty you dont have OSD for the last phase (or blackbox) , that could have realy helped figuring this out. Its a complex topic. Sad for your loss and good luck with the rebuild
@@tachyonpost1472 that’s right it would help greatly. 👍
I now know what the problem was. I placed the Flight controller in another Plane and and induced a failsafe, the plane acted the same as when the original plane crashed but this time I had my vision unlike when I had the crash. In my screen it says move sticks to take control and that’s when I knew the problem. On the crash flight I had no vision and have obviously had movement on the sticks but was unable to see the plane attitude. Never had that situation before so have learned something. Thanks for your inputs.
maybe an esc popped i have heard stock ones can go
Hi Julian, tested everything on the plane like servos, engines and esc. Everything works as it should.👍
i recon a servo glitch
@@robtraynor6753 very possible Rob but all servos work perfectly.
Where were you tel
@@NigelWilliams-ui6jx I was at the field. Found plane in Stalmine.
Sounded a bit rough at the end. Lost motor/prop?
@@JakeBullit123 No both props was on the plane. Probably sounds rough because of the Fc taking over from manual flight and changed the RPM to change the Altitude???
Very strange. So did it crash soon after F/S or head back for a while first? I've had a couple of sketchy F/S in the past which I attributed to it loosing signal then getting it back, loosing, back again etc which I think upsets the FC/INAV but it's never crashed me. I take it you never got your Rx link back? You did get some good distance out.
@@blackbirdboy1 within a few seconds of Rth but never got the signal back to controller or goggles.
@@terrymurphy562 Was the Rx antenna on the rear of he plane? Does tend to be when it turns around you can loose Rd link. But doesn't explain why it didn't just initiate F/S and return home. Which version of INAV?
@@blackbirdboy1 Antenna is towards the rear of the plane. Using latest version of inav. I even tried Rth before I headed out.
I had a similar failure with a much more rapid loss of power. I’ve attributed it to either a bad lion battery pack and or a poor solder. Sucks but part of the hobby and learning curve. Thanks for sharing your experience
I just think the battery had gone bad, never had that happen, it fell rapidly for it to be anything else. I do think the li-lon packs are the way to go though and in the process of making a few packs up. 👍
I am tending towards that as well. I had a couple of hard landings (cough- crash) with the same battery pack. Lesson learned about reusing beat up battery packs. I am currently setting up a small backup battery system that will switch over for a few minutes of power to get down safely. The esc’s won’t be powered but I will surely be able to glide her to a ditch point via Fpv. I also have a gps tractive device for locating. Well worth it
@@skupper672 the only problem with the battery backup system is the Adding of more weight. Also my battery pack only had around 15 cycles. GN3 lipos, very good lipos at that. I was surprised. Good luck.
Having read through others comments, was it an old tired lipo? Was it definitely fully charged? Coz it did fall off a cliff. A very short but steep cliff at that. At first I thought it was a Lithium as you've have a few of them now & i try to be very close to home by the time my Lipo hits 14v or on the deck. Anyway, my guess is its already fixed and ready to go again, so look forward to the next vid and hope to see you soon.
Hi Steven, no it has only been cycled around 15 times. Top quality lipo, plane is ready to go again.
For safety id buy a new battery, those lipo realy dont like it when they get this low
You are probably right. I have been able to recharge the battery and will give it a few tests with some proximity flying but I agree that they don’t like it. Thanks for the input. 👍
bummer, hope it fix`s okay
It wasn’t a lot of damage but it did snap the carbon spar, I had a spare from another plane . Always keep your bits from other planes. 😋
@@terrymurphy562 Wow. Snapped the spar. Who'd a thunk it. Was only a hard landing.
