Choosing the Right Key for Your Accordion
One of the things that people talk about is the real need to adjust the bellows action using both the physical knob and the digital parameters for sensitivity. Out of the box you are not going to get the bellows action you want.
The diatonic version of Roland seems like it was geared towards Latin music, but it is no longer available. I would love to see someone tweak this one for preferred sounds by genre: merengue, tejano, and vallenato for starters.
To me it’s just the clicking sound, panther still sounds good
I like 5 row accordions, mine is a Fantini 96 bass, I would love a Roland electronic device.
I was wondering if such an instrument exists. Thank you for making this video.
High price low quality:/ norteño by gabbanelli is way better than Aces
on sale now for 1995
To much talking and little performance. Come prepared before you try those things unknown stuff.
Sounds great, looks great, but $8k is insane.
The price is too much
At least this was an honest review. The price should be at $3500 no more. But what does the dealer invoice say? Also with all the money Hohner has they could've made a better looking grill because this one is ugly. The rest of the box is great. 🤷♂️
I have the Harmonik 5001 plus installed in my accirdion,i love it but i would love to know your opinion as an acciodionist... Harmonik microphones...Check it out!...
Please review the corona iii rebelde 🙏
$8,000 😢
The price is ridiculous 🤣
I just picked up a used panther in excellent conditions for 300 bucks! I’m super excited to start learning on it.
Thank you for these videos. I’m new to accordions and am exited to learn.
For Cumbia Colombiana I use the Corona III in tunes of GCF & BEA. For Norteño I use a Corona II FBE & EAD.
Recommend DJR microphone

What's a sweet 8:35 instrument. I like this. tone
Have you heard of wayne toups? Im a guitarists and recently interested in learning accordian. Wayne toups uses one with much less buttons compared to the ones i see on youtube. It doesnt have traditional piano looking keys and only a handfull of them. What kind of accordian is that and what key would i need to play his music? "Take my hand" is one id like to learn
Just bought one from Alamo Music Center two weeks ago and I LOVE IT.
AND WE LOVE YOU
👎👎👎👎Ummmm...The Roland V accordions available now are chromatic (each button plays the same note on push and pull). NOT diatonic (Different note on push/pull for each button). VERY disapointing this year old video ad is advertsing a producty discontinued years ago. And isn't even close to providing correct technical information. 👎👎👎👎
Do you have. Piano accordions. Need price on one
Yes!
Nice demo , and sound . Are they diatonic !
Yeah
You sold me… gonna go buy one now
Can’t wait to see what yall come up with! Just starting my accordion journey now (at 33)… looking forward to learning alot from you
Was not spoken very clearly. Was a bit all over. Not being harsh. But a bit unclear
Seems in some videos you accidentally point to wrong accordian. Maybe im wrong. As you are saying what it is Or…. U switch their positions And dont tell us
Vallenatos? Specificamente Los Diablitos? Is that wet sound, also?
Awesome job Joe!
You couldn’t retune the one without the registers to octave tuning, you would need another set of reed blocks as the lower octave reeds are a bigger size to get the lower pitch. You could however change the detune between the reeds to get a wider, or lesser chorus effect when both reeds sound in unison.
as a beginner, i can say this video is disorganized and confusing as heck.
On your comparison of C2 vs panther sound . The panther sounds a little more tinny, more a of a tining sound. The C2 seemed to be more throaty, more warmer. I kinda like the the tinny sound,it seems to resonate further in a crowed. For polkas I think the Pearce sound is more audible during dancing out on the dance floor. Any way sorry for being so lengthy.
Thank you for explaining about how we can learn on a GCF box and then transpose over to boxes in other keys. I had not thought of that.
Hi, does it need to pull or push Bellow in order to make it sound?
Thank you! 🙏
Can it be programmed to chromatic accordion griffs?
I appreciate you making the video, but I wouod like a few options, like if you play this type of music get this one, if you play this other, then get this one. For a beginner "it all comes down to your personal preference" does not work because you don't have a personal preference yet. Especially if it will be your first time learning music theory too. Jazz, this one, gospel, this one, tex mex, this one, vallenato, this one, french stereotypical music, this one, polka, this one, etc. And they are so expensive that "get all of them" also is unreal.
The simplest way to describe the difference between diatonic and chromatic: Diatonic works like a harmonica, one note blowing, a different note sucking Chromatic (whether keys or buttons) works like a piano, same note in or out.
Classic sounds better
Creo que nos estan vendiendo el color y que que esta echo en alemania. Los materiales y los botones. Por que el sonido es el mismo. Solo la caja de resonancia lo cambia pero solo un poquito
Name of pedal please
The word “Diatonic” doesn’t mean that an accordion produces different sound on expansion and contraction of the bellows. The term for that is “bisonoric”. Not all diatonic accordions are bisonoric!
Stradella, that’s the bass system used more commonly on piano accordions and chromatic button accordions, or free bass. Some accordions can actually switch from Stradella to free bass with the push of a button.
Are they in the same Key?
I bought a GCF Panther from Alamo (via Amazon) as my 1st box & that got me started. I did not yet know what type of music I wanted to play, but picking a box keyed to tunes easy & familiar made sense as a starting point. I now play mainly on a two row in DG due to main genre of tunes, but I also like the slightly lower pitch of CF. After playing DG for so long the GC box seems too low unless played on the upper octave on the G row. Thank you for the video - although accordions are expensive they retain value and it’s as important to get started . . . You can refine your choice of box later or “learn the whole box” as the video suggests.
hey question,i have a web page open right now for it for 91.99 usd.... store is called maklena, is this site a scam im looking to buy my first accordian, i see comments here saying they are 750. well google also shows them for 500, 750,, but theres a few sites selling them for sub 100$ usd and they have good reviews, should i buy it?
“If you play Irish music, maybe you need an accordion in D. The two accordions are the keys of G , C, & F or F, Bb, & Eb…” You said that a few times now. I don’t see a D key anywhere on those accordions. Er…?
Alamo? Maybe if I google Alamo it will be more clear? (Wasn’t that General Custer?)
