It's really interesting to see the chronology of DisneyToon Studios animated films! As an animation fan, I personally think Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy series would fit perfectly with Disney's animation style. Tezuka's works share many similarities with Disney's traditional animation, and the characters and stories of Astro Boy align well with Disney's themes. However, since Tezuka's copyrights are still intact, it seems like it will take some time before Disney Studios can directly produce Astro Boy. Instead, the Astro Boy Reboot, a collaboration between Tezuka Productions in Japan and French companies like Method (Mediatoon), Shibuya, and Karibara, is set to air on Disney Plus (Disney+) and Disney Branded Television (Disney Channel, Disney XD). With the success of collaborative animations like Miraculous, I believe Astro Boy Reboot will also receive a great response!

This video is a great way to look back at Disney Animation Studios' films from 1937 to 2023! So many iconic films like Frozen, The Lion King, and Tarzan are included, and it’s amazing to see how Disney has evolved over the years. On a related note, I think Tezuka’s Astro Boy Atom series would be an excellent fit for Disney’s 3D animation style. Atom’s story and character align so well with Disney’s emotional and moral themes, and Disney’s 3D animation technology could beautifully bring Atom’s futuristic world and action scenes to life. If Tezuka’s copyright expires around the 2050s, it would be fantastic to see a Disney 3D animated series based on Astro Boy. Of course, the copyright protection period may change depending on the law, but I look forward to the day we can see Astro Boy in Disney’s style!

We would love to see some Korean🇰🇷 fairy tales adapted by Walt Disney (Animation Studio) in the future! Stories like 'The Nine-Tailed Fox(= the fox with 9 tails = Kumiho = Gumiho = Miho Koo = Miho Goo),' 'Heungbu(ex> Hugh) & Nolbu(ex> Noby),' and 'The Tale of Hong Gildong(= Gildong Hong. -> ex> Gordon Hong / George Hong / Girdon Hong)' would fit perfectly into Disney's style. It would be amazing to see these unique narratives brought to life on screen!

Animations with Japanese cultural elements, like 'Big Hero 6,' really fit well with Disney. I personally think Tezuka's Astro Boy (=Mighty Atom) series would be a great match for Disney animations. It would be amazing to see a future Disney 3D animation (classic / reboot) based on the 1963 + 1980 original works and the 2003 derivative work. Of course, copyright issues need to be considered, but it would be fantastic if such projects were made in the future.

I hope the Astro Boy Reboot animation, a collaboration between Japan and France, will air on Disney Branded Television (Disney Channel, Disney XD) and Disney+ around 2025. This animation is produced by Method (or Mediawan), the same studio behind "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir." Just as "Miraculous" found great success on Disney platforms, the Astro Boy Reboot has the potential to achieve similar success. While copyright issues currently prevent Disney from directly producing Astro Boy, this reboot serves as an excellent alternative.
