The Pro Leather Sling ‘Plus Pad’ From Deer Central
มุมมอง 433ปีที่แล้ว
Many experienced deer stalkers recognise the benefit in ‘muzzle down’ carry when it comes to control in bringing a rifle up single handedly and minimising movement whilst doing so. The Pro Leather Sling Plus Pad is designed to slip on to the canvas strap of our Deer Central Pro Sling to comfortably facilitate muzzle down carry when the chest strap is not being used. This means the sling can be ...

Hello from the US. I'm getting ready to purchase the Pro Sticks from Denmark. Should I purchase them from somewhere else? The UK? Is there a dealer in the USA? Also, considering purchasing the 5th leg; do you recommend the 5th leg? Does it increase your accuracy? Thanks much from WA State.

    • @deercentraluk

Hi Dominic. Territorial calls work best earlier in the rut when Stags are getting established. Once they are holding hinds it might not be as effective. Hind mew and Sika rutting sounds can be used. Nothing can replace studying first hand and replicating what you hear and adapting based on responses. We do include instructions with our Sika XTS deercentral.co.uk/product/sika-xt-s-deer-call/

Myself and my shooting partner had a conversation a few months back about first aid, he didn’t realise I carry a cat tourniquet and a ffd, along with a small kit of minor dressings etc, this led to him adding to his, I will admit though that I keep mine in my daysack and given the weather recently I don’t carry it as much as I should!

They’ve changed it since I did mine years ago. No head shot in the old test. I do question the head shot even for humane dispatch . Many see this as encouragement to take it as the kill shot then screw it up when the animal moves. The head is moving pretty constantly and I’ve seen some horrendous injuries including missing lower jaws on mis shot animals. I just don’t understand why the BDS and others don’t advocate the HILAR shot instead. It is instantaneous and drops an animal to the ground where it stands. A miss forward or back a few inches is still a lethal outcome. A miss high is a high shoulder/spine shot. HILAR has a smaller meat damage potential and is devastatingly effective be it the main kill shot or humane dispatch. Imho it should be seriously looked at as the shot of choice for the DSC1. It’s one I always teach to others now. Nicely made vid, and nice clear audio description, well done.

@@cocovasquez1criticism is part and parcel of watching videos on TH-cam, it's necessary, especially as he said he hoped it was 'constructive' criticism. Obviously one has to watch a video in order to critique it, so your comment saying 'don't watch it then', makes no sense. How many films have you watched all the way through, only to realise afterwards there were things you didn't like about it, or Indeed, disliked the film in its entirety? Ironically, you criticised his comment by saying 'no-one needs your criticism', and he rightly replied by saying that your opinion wasn't called for, therefore going against your own morals. Making criticisms is not being unkind, it's just an observation and hopefully helps the TH-camrs gain some knowledge.

You need to sound fairly convincing so some knowledge of Sika is good. The more knowlegeable you are about Sika the more succesful you will be at using the call at other times of year.
