Just an outstanding musicianship and the soloist besides being technically superior, tone , musician ship, intonation and dexterity with his tongue and valves was beyond compare.
Having listened / looked at the upload (and read the comments too) all i want to say is the very of luck in your new role as Principal Euph with Black Dyke, Best wishes Adam looking forward to hearing more of you especially at the British open.

I don't play euphonium. I'm curious what your left thumb is pushing in on certain notes? ( ie: in the staff F )
Hi Don, it's a trigger mechanism that shifts the main tuning slide out when engaged. It really helps flatten the notoriously sharp notes on the instrument (F, G, etc.). Most 'professional' models of euphonium come with them nowadays.

Hi Don, I try to listen to as much as possible to give myself a rounded musical approach. But in terms of euphonium players, some of my favourites are Morgan Griffiths, David Thornton, and Thomas Ruedi.

@@adambokaris2453 ok, who are the guest players then? A lot of faces I’ve not seen for Grimethorpe before and I’ve seen them a fair amount. Also whose arrangement? There are definite chord alterations.
