It was an Iranian word Mitra from the root mi- "to bind",-tra- "causing to." Thus, means "that which causes binding". This deity entered the Greek world through Iranian and Armenian cults of Mithra. Greeks could not pronounce many local names and replaced them with their own. Greek was an important language at the time so most empires used it. Armenians also used Aramaic and Greek alphabets before the creation of our own. You are out of your mind if you believe just because we used Greek alphabet we are Greeks.

Have I listened to Greek music? Of course I have my ancestors are from Trabzond what used to be Pontus. I lived all my life next to Pontic Greek in Abkhazia. And finally the proof that Orontid (or more properly Yervanduni) was an Armenian royal dynasty is written in the Old Persian Behistun inscription (515 BC) by the order of Darius the Great where he called the Yervanduni (Orontid) kingdom as "ARMENIA" also notice the Roman "-us" at the ending of the name 'Darius', another example of how local names were Romanized and Hellenized by Greeks and Romans. By those names they became famous in western literature and that is why we pronounce them as such.

You extrapolate origin based on a Greek version of their names. It is so stupid I cannot imagine anyone will take you serious.
