Well I have been listening to a bunch of Nancy San Martin so that was what inspired me to try such a style. Interesting fact about mapuche music is that its main traditional form is actually ritualistic and it doesn’t have the same concepts as western music so using purrun or ulkantun as a pure basis only was never gonna work out. Lately there are a lot of fusion styles though with the traditional elements mixing with like rap and rock, or works that are more acoustic-oriented which is where I wanted to go towards for this arrangement
I thought nemuno would be an interesting pick, because the yokai she is based on and the mapuche machi can be quite contrasting figures in what they do. So that sort of interaction was a part of it. It was a little bit difficult to be able to get the design compliment both aspects though, that was certainly something
