    That was soooo bad. That kids mechanics were bad and never corrected. The coach is right. He's swinging way to hard and fast. Why not slow him down, build his mechanics up then gradually speed up? Not a good teaching video at all!!

    So, should I squash the bug, in a sense?

  • @Integriteees
    @Integriteees 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    And how do you move the barrel away from your front hip to get into extension because I do exactly what you described not to do? Would love to hear your knowledge, please?

  • @Integriteees
    @Integriteees 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Coach, you're obviously extremely knowledgeable about hitting, just please stop asking, "does it make sense?" People in general will NOT admit something doesn't "make sense" in fear of feeling unintelligent because maybe it doesn't make sense to them. Just ask them to describe what it is they have done incorrectly OR lead them to thinking about what they SHOULD be doing, like you do but also by showing them. Many ppl are visual and kinesthetic learners. Otherwise, you are awesome!

    Good stuff but "Does that make sense" question will almost never elicit a true response because the student will almost never answer in lieu of looking like they don't understand something that you think should "make sense." After the directive or the explanation just ask them if there are any questions.

    Interesting. Teachermanhitting (Aaron Judge's hitting coach for a time, still works with him) you got that snap, and not the chop. I do think hybrid approaches are possible. For example, @01:26, you got that bat snapping vs pushing and more of a clock vs a push and I love that. This is the first time I've seen a coach other than Teacherman do this. That forward motion, pushing through the zone? Nah, not getting that. I introduce a lot of one legged drills, that helps too. I've never watched you before, but I feel that you get it, and I am starting to run into maybe 1 in 30 that get it.

    Absolutely flawless! 💯 without sharing knowledge, it’s basically useless… at the same time, share all the knowledge in the world in a way those kids can’t comprehend, it’s basically useless as well. Great job my dude!

    MORE IMPORTANT THAN BACK FOOT, IS THE NON PIVOT FRONT TOE POINTING TO THE CATCHER.....

    • @completegamebaseball
      @completegamebaseball ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for comment Doug. Definitely important as well, but in the order of events an incorrect back foot will impact the front foot and it’s placement/direction.

    • @dougthegreat1808
      @dougthegreat1808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Complete Game been in the game as pitcher at St. John's Univ in Queens, NY and umpire since 1975 and I have never heard of anyone advocating the "back foot"... But then again, good luck selling your services...

    • @completegamebaseball
      @completegamebaseball ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dougthegreat1808 that’s awesome. Not far from where I grew up and live. Great school. Yes unfortunately people spend their focus on the front leg/foot which is why a lot of pitchers struggle with opening early. If the back foot is aligned properly and pushes correctly the front foot will react the right way. The pitcher is not supposed to force the action of the front foot. The brain will do that for them. It will land straight to the target because of the alignment/pushing I mentioned above and it will turn on its own so the body can protect the knee when the rotation occurs.
