I'm from deep south Louisiana, bayou country right on I-10. I don't want to come off as mean or overly critical but there's problems with that recipe and your technique. That being said, it seems like you had a good time preparing the meal and enjoyed eating it and I think that's the whole point of trying new recipes. Keep doing what you doing and have fun on the kitchen.

Update: Although, I DO NOT LIKE the translucent brown lizards; my daughter and I managed to save him. I had to free him from the tape by pour vegetable oil around him. Then my daughter wiggled him off. He’s now resting on the big pumpkin and drinking from a water bottle cap filled with water. He is not moving much but it’s getting it’s strength back slowly.
