    Thankyou so much for another excellent discussion. Just today I was spending time with a friend and sharing about what it means to be a Noahide. She appreciated that our focus is on giving and caring for others, and belief in only one God, the creator of the universe. It's so much easier l'm finding, to see the preciousness of each soul, just as they are. So, thanks again. I loved the story of the little boy, as I have a grandson who just loves to work with his abba and is becoming a real handyman and is becoming very creative .

    I know I’m a couple years late to these videos, but thank you so much Terry and Scott for doing them!! I really appreciate you! Especially being fairly new to the Noahide path. I have been on a few zoom sessions of the Noahide path, and recently learned of these sessions, which Terry had mentioned a week or so ago. Terry, I did get the book “Seven Gates of Righteous Knowledge”. I just wanted to let y’all know I may not be able to get on the Path or Wednesday night meetings because I have my grandson for the summer. But, we’ll see what I can manage. Also, it’s okay because it’s giving me the opportunity to watch these sessions from the very beginning, and not coming in in the middle of something and not understanding what is really going on. So again, I really appreciate these videos. Shalom

    At 32:00 Zechariah 8.23 is mentioned. The scripture is presented below: Zechariah 8.23: So said the Lord of Hosts: In those days, when ten men of all the languages of the nations shall take hold of the skirt of a Jewish man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." I have always felt strongly that the Noahide movement is the fulfillment of this holy prophesy. Thanks for confirming that. (from a fellow Noahide).

  • @waegnw3504

    At 42:57, Terry states: "Some things in and around the Council of Nicaea, 325 AD, included..." At 43:23, Terry states: "in, and around, the Council of Nicaea which was 325 AD, the Roman..." Terry, as a Noahide you should avoid using the designations of "AD" (and also "BC") as this is Christian terminology that has no place in the teaching of the Words of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. "AD" stands for "Anno Domini", Latin for “in the year of the Lord” (meaning the lord Jesus Christ, the returning Messiah according to Christians). "BC" stands for “Before Christ” and here again refers to Jesus Christ, the returning Messiah according to Christians. My suggestion is that you (and others of the Noahide community) use the terms CE (for the "Common Era", and BCE for "Before the Common Era". You and/or Scotty might want to mention this to your Noahide viewers during one of your future lectures. I am a bit surprised that this was not taught to you and Scotty during your past training from the Jewish Rabbis. Please keep up the great work.

      @@outreachnoah Thanks for your quick reply. I did suspect that perhaps what you said (in your reply) was the case. But as I listened to the video, it kinda "hit me over the head" when I heard "AD" and I had to make mention of it. No insult of any type intended. Both of you (Terry & Scotty) do a wonderful job and I believe I have watched (or listened to) every one of your videos. You both are living in my old stomping grounds as I worked for many years with TVA while first living in Norris, and then in Hixson, TN. Looking forward to your future videos. 🙂

    At 45:04, regarding returning the 50 cents. I believe that this example should have been stated in more detail (and more directly). THis is because the first thing said is that if one returns the 50 cents then he/she is righteous. It is a couple of sentences later that it is stated that the 50 cents must be returned because this is what G-d wanted us to do, not because we think that returning it is in keeping with our personal oral ethics. While it was (more or less) inferred that, to be righteous, one must return the money because G-d has commanded it, it could have been stated from the first as: If you find that you have been given too much change after a purchase at the store and return it because you think this the right thing to do, that is not being a righteous person in the eyes of G-d! To be a righteous person in this situation, you must return the money with the realization that you are doing it because this is what G-d commanded you to do. We can rightly justify this by realizing that the reason we know that stealing is inherently wrong, and that we must return the money, is because of the soul given to us by G-d. For example, most people were never directly told by someone to not steal, or to not murder, but they somehow know it is wrong. How do they know this inherently. It is our G-d given soul that directs us (i.e., tells us) that these things are wrong and must not be done.

    As a Noahide, I have done a fair amount of biblical research over the past few years. Based on that research, I wanted to point out an "incorrect assumption" made by many. An incorrect assumption that is common on the part of many Noahides, and on the part of (probably) 110% of Christians and other gentiles. That incorrect assumption is as follows: The Ten Commands/Laws were given only to the Jewish people at Mount Sinai to follow. The Seven Commandments/Laws were given by the One G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to the righteous Gentiles of the Nations (i.e., the Noahides) for them to follow. This is apparent when one looks at the first Words the One G-d of Israel spoke to the approximately 3-million people present at Mount Sinai (see immediately below): "I am G‑d your G‑d, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." (Exodus 20.2) God only brought the Hebrew people (who later became the Jewish people at Mount Sinai) out of Egypt, and, therefore, this is who he is speaking to as he gives his Ten Commandments. There is some overlap between the 7-Noahide Laws and Ten Commandments, but those Ten Commandments are part of the 613 commandments G-d directed the Jews to keep/follow in the Five Books of Moses (i.e., the "Torah"). If needed, I can provide a solid written source for my statement regarding this "difference" between the 7-Noahide Laws and the 10-Commandments. This might be a good topic for a future video. That is, to describe the differences (and possibly the "overlaps" that exits) between the 7 Noahide Laws and the Ten Commandments. I believe that Terry has discussed the Noahide laws, but do not remember him stating explicitly that the Ten Commands were only for the Jews, not for the Noahides and people of the Nations. If this was covered in a previous video, please disregard this suggestion for producing a new presentation on this topic. Also, if it is thought that the Torah does not indicate that the Ten Commandments were only for the Jews, please let me know. I have discussions with a number of gentiles and do not want to be providing them with any false information. Please keep up the Great work you are doing. So very many Gentiles need to hear/learn the truth before the Messiah arrives from the House of David. Once that happens, it will be too late for them to return to the One G-d of Israel!

      Thank you for this comment, You are correct on the separation of the 10 Commandments and the Sheva Mitzvot. We have not done a class on that one point but as we have been gong through the Sheva Mitzvot the subject has come up from time to time and we have covered that point as it has come up. There is a teaching from Rabbi Samson R. Hirsch that I have taught on that goes along with this and that is the Law of Species. This is another very important subject that is not being taught, with Hashem's help I hope to write a small book on it. Terry Hayes

  • @waegnw1793

    Thank you for these presentations. I have been a Noahide for a few years now. During that time, I have attempted to learn more about the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. This has been done by doing some reading, and listening to a lot of lectures by various Rabbis on various subjects, and what the Torah/Tanach has to say on those topics. In this lecture, you touch on how the Jewish people have arranged marriages. That reminded me of the following information. I have heard Rabbi Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi state in more than one lecture that there is no biblical/torah requirement for marriage among the gentiles. That requirement is only for the Jewish people. If one is a gentile (according to Rabbi Mizrachi) and falls in love with another gentile, then all they have to do is agree to move in together and that is all that is required. No marriage ceremonies required at all. If the two gentile people decide at a later date that living together is not working, then all he/she has to do is pack up their belonging and move out/leave. This is the end of the relationship. No divorce required. I would be interested in hearing Terry (and/or Scotty) speak on these statements by Rabbi Mizrachi. Marriage is a long time tradition among the gentile nations, but does the Torah/Tanach state that gentiles are actually required to have any type of marriage ceremony? Thank you for your time in considering my question.

    • @outreachnoah
      @outreachnoah ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question, You are correct, formal or ceremonial weddings is not a Torah commandment for the nations as you have learned. But on the other hand it is not forbidden. This is one of those areas where the rabbis recommend that one follow the laws and customs of your nation for marriage and divorce as long as it does not violate Torah law for the non-Jew. In the United States all marriages are Civil unions by law. The basic legal wedding can be done by a Judge at the Court House with a few witnesses. The US grants permission for religious leaders to preform weddings. Within the law of our land there is also the Common Law marriage where two people have lived together for a designated time, after that time has been reached they are considered married law.

    Hi Scotty and Terry, thank you for this great teaching! I have a question about charity. 1. This week I went to a hardware store and there was a man asking for donations for disability sports as they don’t receive govt funding. Is this an appropriate charity to give to or is it better to give to a charity that provides food and shelter or one that you particularly are supportive of? Thank you from New Zealand 😊

    • @outreachnoah
      @outreachnoah ปีที่แล้ว

      What a great question! Yes, this type of giving elevates the recipient, not merely providing them with material support, but also fostering dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency, just as charity should. Acts of kindness create a ripple effect, as the recipients are often inspired to contribute their newfound knowledge and opportunities to the wider community. These networks of support strengthen societies, enabling individuals to gain the tools and resources necessary to transform their lives. In this way, the power of charity lies not only in the immediate relief it provides but also in its ability to catalyze lasting change. By helping others in need, we create a better world that fosters love, kindness, and understanding. As we embrace this charitable spirit, our collective wisdom and insight grows, reinforcing the importance of both faith and awareness in our lives. Charity serves as a bridge between knowledge and faith, embodying humanity's desire to help one another. It is in these moments of generosity that the ethos of compassion and empathy flourishes, strengthening the human spirit.

    Is saying "G.. d.... it" blasphemous? What should a Noahide do/say when she hears it? Let me say, I am learning a lot and really appreciate the study of Torah and not just an overall commentary.

    • @outreachnoah
      @outreachnoah ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question. I will be getting into some of the details of this subject. Your question is a common question and I have heard in the past different answers to this question. Hashem willing through my current studies I should be able to give you an answer. Though the English word 'God' is a common one that is used for the 'God of Israel', there are some rulings by the Torah Sages of Israel on this. One thing to note is that there is not a Hebrew word for the English word 'God' - the Hebrew translated as 'God' has a meaning more like 'power' or 'Source". There are many Hebrew words that their English translation hides and can distort its true Hebrew meaning and understanding.

    Based on a lecture by a rabbi that I listened to a few months ago, I understood that the reason Cain's offering was rejected and Abel's offering was accepted was due (at least in part) to the following reason: When Abel went to make his offering, he selected the very best of his flock/animals to bring before the altar and offer to God. Cain, on the other hand, did not do this. Of the produce growing in his field(s), he did not select the very best. He selected produce of a lower quality than was available to him. Perhaps he felt that, if this produce was to be burned on the altar, then why select the best and most valuable only to watch it "go up in flames"? In any event, he brought produce to the altar based on what he considered the "minimum value" he thought he could get God to accept, not the produce of maximum quality that he should have brought to G_D. As a result, G_D accepted Abel's offering, but turned his back on the poor quality offering of Cain. If time permits, in your next lecture, could you address whether the above reasoning has any truth to it or not? I, very much, would appreciate hearing your response. Thank you. PS - Please note that as I am typing this comment/question, I have only listened to the first 35 minutes of this lecture. So, perhaps I will find my answer in the remaining part of this video? If so, please disregard this question. If not, I will look forward to your response. Thank you both for a very good informative video regarding the Torah/Tanach.

      Thank you for your comment. We are basically saying the same thing. I am teaching from the Rabbi Samson R. Hirsch Chumash Bereishis. Rabbi Hirsh makes the same statement about the offerings but he also shows that the choice in the offerings reflected their personality and character.
