Bro. This is such a bad technique that I thought it's a satirical video. Keep your arms at least vertical ALL THE TIME. Or even just slightly tilted towards your head. Not your body as you do when you lower the weight. The arm does not move. The shoulder does not move. The only joint used is the elbow. And the forearm is the only body part that moves You will have to use a much smaller dumbbell. But at least you won't BS yourself as to how strong you are

Your elbow moves towards your body and then goes back up. That is NOT the way to correctly perform this Your arm should be "frozen". Your albow should be "frozen" and not budge. The only part moving should be your forearm

Since you asked...my top 3 things I wish I knew or did (I did western sports/rodeo from '70-'81 at the youth world class level). First, learn about financial management and wealth building and apply the principles; second, don't be afraid to ask for help...the worst that can happen is not being turned down, but NEVER having asked; and the #1 thing, spend as much time around those who are better than you, have bigger goals, and invest in themselves...I was fortunate to know and spend a lot of time with many of the icons and HoF members in the AQHA and attend roping schools with Jerry Anderson, Pat Minor, Dean Oliver, Dee Pickett, Mike Beers, and others. The absolute BEST thing parents can do for their young rodeo athletes is to invest in schools like OPA 🤠
