Russia is hosting the 2014 Olympic Winter Games this month, a tradition that champions the spirit of inclusiveness and equality. In June 2013, new Russian laws ushered in a wave of government-sanctioned violence against the Russian LGBT community. As LGBT athletes, these events hit close to home for all of us.
В этом месяце в России проводятся зимние Олимпийские Игры 2014 года, традиционно поддерживающие дух участия на основе всеобщего равенства. В июне 2013 года новый российский закон спровоцировал поддержанную правительством волну насилия против российского ЛГБТ-сообщества. Мы спортсмены, принадлежащие к ЛГБТ-сообществу, и события в России касаются каждого из нас.
In a show of solidarity with the Russian LGBT community, FRNY has set a goal to cumulatively run at least 4,664 miles - the distance between New York City and Moscow - during the month preceding the closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics on Sunday, February 23rd.
В знак солидарности с российским ЛГБТ-сообществом, члены Нью-Йоркского клуба «Бегущие впереди» решили до 23 февраля, даты официального закрытия Олимпийских Игр в Сочи, все вместе пробежать 4,664 мили, что составляет расстояние между Нью-Йорком и Москвой.

Running saved my life when I was a teen, literally. As a running group, I kinda wished you had talked a bit more about the power of running, and the awesomeness of the running community in general.
