Sneaker Impact is a newly founded social enterprise that focuses on the basic principles of sustainability: maintaining a balance between nature, healthy communities, and economic vitality. We support this global effort through recycling your reusable sneakers and keeping them out of landfills where billions of tons are destroyed each year through processes that harm our environment. Instead, your recycled goods are provided to small markets in developing countries to assist those communities in continual economic growth.
Leading From the Front: Ted Metellus, Race Director of the TCS New York City Marathon & NYRR
In this special episode of Sneaker Impact News, hosted by Bryan the Botanist, we have the honor of interviewing Ted Metellus, the Race Director of the TCS New York City Marathon and Senior Vice President of Event Development and Production at the New York Road Runners (NYRR). I sent in my first bag a few months ago. With some of the pairs questionable on further life/use as a shoe, was wondering what you guys did with the non useable ones. I'm pretty happy to see they'll truly be recycled/upcycled and not just dumped I to a landfill. 🙌
