Im so similar, I grew up in an extremely strict and abusive household to the point I live in fear. I have never hanged out with friends or gone out unless it’s with parents and never was allowed to work until now,18. I’ve been getting told like I’m 18 why am k still here and the college I want to go to is an hour away anyways. I’m suffocated here and didn’t want to leave my mom and siblings here but I feel like even here will get better once I leave, I am going to start working now and move out at 19 like you. My story is one fully of tragedy and some absolutely insane shit. I know this was about strict parents that are still family, but I've been abused all my life by monsters, so i have no blood family, which hell yeah who needs that, found family ftw. The concept of getting out was weird to me. This video is one of the only things that made me feel like there are good people in the world when looking for this advice. Huge congrats on getting your own place. I hope to do soon asap, this is it.
