Beloning is a feeling that creates loyalty, affinity and a desire to share the story. That is very different from delivering great service.
So So true! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Dennis & Tom, you guys are the best, keep doing what you’re doing. Happy Holidays!!
Thank you, Sean ... Tom and I have some cool things cookin'. You might say we had a Serious Shift.
Amen to another Dennis Moseley-Williams knowledge drop, "What you should be thinking about is how you matter more to your clients." You nailed it!!!
It is the ultimate question. Continnuing to answer it can be a career quest.
Dennis. I love the fact that you share such common sense advice which is good for business owners as well as truly engaged employees. I think having a solid/consistent morning routine is an absolute must. The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma was an absolute game changer for me. By the time most people get out of bed I have a 2 or 3 hour head start. Mostly because I am an overachiever and am up at 4:00AM. Point is, you do this consistently and you are ahead of over 95% of others. Linchpin is on my December reading list. I am a big fan of Seth's wisdom as well!
Thank you for the comment , Grant. You will love Linchpin.
read: Lynch pin seth goden, experience economy joe pine, turning pro by steven pressfield, I'll go look those up. Always good to watch your nuggets of morning goodness
Hi there, Niki. You will love those books.
Dennis - I appreciate your constant content with good ideas and suggestions on how to get better.
Glad you like them!
This guy gets it...
Trying to get it ....
Love it, Dennis! Good for you for taking three months off. I often say to my clients, "What are you willing to do to accomplish whatever is you want to accomplish?" E.g. Are you willing to drive a used car or eat out less or work longer and harder or negotiate your cell phone bill, etc. For me, winning is control over my time and, longer term, having the choice to slow down or stop work when I want. It's working not because I HAVE to, but because I WANT to. There's a big difference!
Oh man, great stuff Dennis!!
Thank you kindly!
I sooooo needed this! Your vision is so clear! Thank you!
Glad you got what you needed!
So Very True! GREAT CHART Dennis. Can see myself on that chart, in many places, over my almost 20 years...
Thank you Mark.
excellent
Dennis, you are right! Thanks for the continued reminder and passions you have to help! Be safe
Thx, Mark. Just trying to do my part.
Great video Dennis! Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome, Steve. How are you?
Love this Dennis.
Thank you, Gareth. May the SHIFT be with you!
really great video Dennis - great advice
You are welcome. Let us know what you do with it.
Always a positive, helpful message Dennis! I know you're enjoying the cabin and the family this summer, I hope it's as awesome as you can stand!
OMG I still remember when the girls were newborns. Decisions are hard.
They are indeed. Newborns, geesh. Seems like yesterday.
Tbh you need to brush your teeth stop appearing on my feed who you giving advice to thief
Well said Dennis. Burnout is hard when you are in parabolic lift and still have challenges (success is not a guarantee, its the result of many more good things happening vs bad) @MikeandNikisHoney we are fighting the good fight, but I'm tired. and you are so right. But I believe it says I am on the right track... Finance was a good track, but Honey is a calling. Good to see you doing general content...
You can do it!
Everybody's friends with a Jeep Guy! LOL
We need a Timmy Ho's donut next time to really hammer home the message
Dennis, love this. One of my "community" experiences centres around the CrossFit world. I belong to a couple of gyms here in London and Strathroy, and the sense of community (welcoming all shapes and sizes and skills, and encouragement and cheering on of each other) is real! As I travel, I seek out CrossFit gyms to go to, and I find the same thing happening in Phoenix, Tucson, and Valencia (the only ones I have been to). They warmly welcome me as a visitor, they want me there, and they treat me like I belong there.
Tom is into CrossFit and tells me that all the time. He says the hidden theme in the 'box' is TRANSFORMATION.
so many great communities - that's a great story Dennis! You'll already know the strong communities in the downhill ski world, I find the scuba world is a crazy community. Every town I've lived in has a great little scuba store somewhere and they know someone who knows someone I know. Its small, like really small.
Small but the connections are immediate. Community is all about identifying with something that is very personal to you. No pretence, just genuine enthusiasm.
great story and yes community is the bees knees
They had me convinced too! I was 240 lbs and completed the 5k Terry Fox run in 2010. Unfortunately, I stupidly got in my own head and stopped going. I might just try again now that I have lost a dramatic amount of weight through diet alone.... You've got me thinkin', Dennis!
Get on it. Terry Fox is an amazing hero to us all.
I love this story as this is my experience every time i go by running shoes! But my story is that i really have a community that I created that is infectious and brings joy and happiness to my life and makes me want to work! This is because of your encouragement!
That is awesome!
Seeing these videos makes me miss my Jeep. Thanks Dennis for sharing these valuable insights.
Love it, thank you
You are so welcome!
That was a fantastic story! Thank you!!
I'd like to sign up for the 'Gain 10 Pounds in 3 Minutes Course'. It sounds fun!
Ha. It is harder work than you might think!
Thanks Dennis for the reminder that yes, we CAN change what we think about, what we BELIEVE and and what we DO! Hope you are well! Looks like a good hill to walk on for some NEW do do :)
It is lovely place to go for a walk and clear my head during the day. A little chilly in the middle of teh winter though.
Wow. You are so incredibly right! Thanks for the words of hard-won wisdom.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, what a story, Dennis. Thanks for sharing! I too am a work in progress and seem to learn something new every day, whether it’s about my speaking work, my work with clients, or my personal development and growth.
Fantastic!
Perfect message! I needed to hear this. Thank you! 🎉
Right on. Think less about what you do, more about how you do it and what impact you want to make.
I like the Gord Downie picture on your shelf. As someone who grew up around Buffalo NY, I can appreciate that.
'Cousin: I'm not like this because I'm in Van Halen, I'm in Van Halen because I'm like this'
NICE!
Some more strong advice - thank you Dennis
Thx, Shawn.
I found the first few episodes hard to watch, the stress was palpable! Can you imagine working like that?! I appreciate your deeper commentary though, you are so right!
The first 2 episodes were an absolute assault on the senses. But the evolution of the main characters and the team as a whole was remarkable as the series went on. INVEST IN YOUR PEOPLE and have a guiding theme.
Exactly!
It is the unexpected work that people are delighted by. Be well!
Always spot on! Thank you Dennis!
Thank you, Dave. Nice to hear from you. May the SHIFT be with you.
Make a member, absolutely love it.
Oh yeah. Why sell goods and services when you can BUILD BELONGING. Don't we all just want to belong somewhere?
Complacency Kills... appreciate the reminder. The context. The framing.
Thx, Kit. Sometimes we all need a little reminder of what haunts us.
nailed it. Blackberry - world dominance for business phones. Steve Jobs unveils Iphone in San Francisco in Jan 2007. That was a big Iceburg in the Bay sitting there.
Yeah we have a secret video that Tom pulled off the internet of an interview with Steve Balmer (Microsoft fame) who was mocking the iPhone. At the same time Blackberry was looking in the wrong direction for the tsunami that was about to hit them.
Weller=? That’s my Jam.
I miss the cottage
Spring is almost here, ha.
great advice
You are welcome, Shawn. Keep up the good fight.
I will tell the story of Dennis and his incredible north-Canadian cabin
Whoot, whoot. It is legendary. At least in my own mind.
Dennis always insightful and inspiring, a simple roadmap to becoming exceptionally indispensable!
