We LOVE the Winds. We were in a big thunderstorm there one time and had a really bright lightning strike super close to us, followed by an instant thunder crash. It was SO LOUD. 😂 We love storms, but that was a little too close for comfort. 🌩⚡️ Y'all did great hiking 18 miles in a day. The Cirque is gorgeous! 🗻 Way to go! ❤ Jackson and Doug did great, too! Those burgers looked delicious! 😋

if you aren't doing a hot spring tour while it's snowing, you're missing out. When the snow stops, the sky is usually clear, and Eastern Oregon has the largest dark sky preserve in the world (so far), so without all the trees around you can really watch *all* of the show. It's also a good time of year to see meteor showers, when clear. Get enough elevation and if it's not clear, it will be. 😀 There is an interactive hot springs map online which shows the ones that are open, closed, etc. The dark sky preserve is also outlined at the dark sky preserve website, and others. Those will give you enough information to throw together simple itineraries and schedule stuff (and also schedule back up alternatives and priorities if you get, say, snowed in at a hot spring for a few days extra). Links in comments almost always get deleted, but I wanted to at least mention some pointers to info.

Welcome to our beautiful state! :) south of bend on hwy 97. There is a hwy 138 diamond lake jct, diamond lake has a snow packed sledding but off of 138 there is multiple waterfalls close to the road. One even has a sahweeet hotspring (umpqua hot spring). You got to go if ya haven't already. Enjoy

Tubbs Hill is an amazing place to go in Coeur d'Alene which is a beautiful city. I recently traveled the country in a minivan after retiring from elementary education. This was one of my favorite stops along the way. Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

What time of year is this video? We explored Idaho last summer, but never made it to that area. We plan on going back there this next spring or summer.

Fun to wake up and see you had visited Coeur d Alene, our home! Technically CDA is considered the Inland Northwest :or INW :). Also the Spokane river flows out of the lake toward Spokane Washington. At the other end of the lake (which is 26 miles long) are the St. Joe and Coeur d Alene rivers which flow into the lake. Sorry you didnt have nicer weather but it looked like Doug and Jackson did not mind the weather at all :). We love watching you live your adventurous life!
