So short answer - A combination of a bunch of unlikely scenarios lol Each enemy has a random Action Point Value they roll. the 1st turn of the fight is random from 1 upwards. The fight is generally safe as long as you get to the 3rd attack from our party. (cause it changes the field colors). But, both enemies independently rolled a 1 and 2 (very unlikely). They both also targeted the same character (1 in 3 each time, so 1 in 9 for the same). The 1 - in -9 target they chose was the 1 character I actually needed to complete the fight. lol So, extremely unlucky. Which is whatever to happen 1 time. very unlucky events happen when you do enough runs. The issue is this hasn't happened to anyone else, but this clip is the 3rd time it's happened to me specifically haha

No stranger to bad RNG, granted, i just speed run Dark Souls 1 and Castlevania SotN both very casually for fun. I just love the games. Ill have to check out more of your content as im a little interested in how this game functions now

@@VoidGivenForm Nice. Yeah Ive never actually played either of those. But CC is a really neat speedrun. Its a game that rewards experience a lot as a lot of the run is about trying to react to different scenarios based off RNG, including Stats to a point.

Yeah i imagine thats the case for most casual players. Until we learned the run, there's like no way to even imagine whats going on specifically haha

Yeah , I dont think Chrono Cross is that hard of a game casually, so this is a pretty good baseline strategy to get through some fights. Whether or not it would be in 1 turn (i.e. with the enemy only going once in between), fully would depend on their AP stat. Some regular enemies have like a baseline of 18+ etc AP, so this could deff work in like 1 turn. But for a lot of bosses, they could end up going a couple times during this (which isn't too bad casually). For example, Miguel has 6 AP, if you did a Serge: 1, 2 ,3 he could go right after or shortly after. Then the same for when you get serge filled back up (because you'd need to 6 ap worth again to refresh), then again when doing the 6 AP worth of attacks before the final Element. Depending on if you got a bit of charity AP, he would go 2-3 times at least using this strategy haha. But overall, that's not too bad casually. We just try avoid it in the speedrun because of trying to go fast you know haha

I think you should get it another shot! Very Fun game with very fun battle mechanics (and its not too hard), and has great music!

@@cannonballkuriboh really it’s just about getting reps in. The more you do it, the more parts of the game or run will become second nature and take less brain power to focus on. You start learning where your focus really needs to fill in attention. Makes it where your brain doesn’t feel like mush after a couple hours.

TY! to be fair, this category isn't as optimized as something like the Any% runs I'm in current 2nd place for, so this will prob be beaten by myself or someone soon. But I plan on trying to optimize and do more All Character runs to push the category in the future (just gotta balance it with relearning FFIX route haha)

Your memory is right haha. It is really not intimidating casually; this is just me explaining some mechanics that game has going on behind-the-curtains that I learned from speedrunning the game. I just just think it is neat to showcase to everyone!
