    i know this is old, but you mebtioned one little thing that really perked my ears up a bit .. i don't fish bass that much. but I do go into some pretty shallow backwaters on the Mississippi. I am torn between a pro V, and a proV bass.i keep getting hung up on the shallow water as my first stop im my decision tree.... but if both those boats can get me through the shallows equally, then I can focus on other aspects to help me make my decision.

      @@monkeySkulls I can tell you that I’ve driven a lot of glass bass boats and when I switched to Lund, shallow water was my biggest concern. Until I got into one and ventured shallow. The Lund’s are comparatively light to fibreglass for the same size or larger boat. Add to that the wide beam and these boats float like a cork. I could get every bit as shallow and I’m convinced shallower that I ever could in my fibreglass rigs. Additionally, I didn’t have to worry about rubbing over wood or rock in a worse case scenario. There’d be no damage to gel coat or the hull itself. I was never disappointed and never looked back. I hope this helps!

      @@TmarkHigg-br4kw happy to. There’s two switches on the dash. One fills the well and the other recirculates the water that’s already in it. Inside the livewell you’ll see two nozzles. The red one slides away from you (push it in) to fill the well. You pull it out (towards you) to pump the water out. You’ll know when it’s out as you will see water pumping out on the starboard side… the opening is right beside the one for the bilge on the side of the boat. Hope that helps.

    • @chrishockleyoutdoors5419
      @chrishockleyoutdoors5419 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don, thank you for your kind words! You’ll love the Pro V Bass! If you have a bounce buster then simply lift the TM… it will hold itself in place. Put the cover on as usual (this actually makes securing the cover at the bow easier with or without a bounce buster). Then just lower the TM down into its locked position. The Bounce Buster will push down on the cover and pinch it to the deck. Just make sure that you adjust the centre pole the first time to allow enough slack in the cover to achieve this without creating significant stress points. You may even opt to put a small rag or thin piece of carpet down between the Bounce Buster and cover. Not necessary but you can. By setting your cover up to do this you will ensure its longevity. Hope this helps!

      Great comment! On ramps there there is no in and out I always launch on the down wind side of the dock which ensures you're boat blows away from and not into the dock which can have bolts and such that can damage your paint. I love the shallow water anchors but I've seen boats move with these in a strong wind. Otherwise... look for a more sheltered launch!

    Great video. You offer lots of good advice. As you state, prepare as much as you can before you get to the ramp, and then be calm and take your time on the ramp. I offer two comments: 1) I would never do the rope trick that you do as you launch. I'm never launching my boat into the water without having the rope in hand - too many things can go wrong, and your only recovery is to swim after your boat. Instead, once the boat is wetted and ready to go off the trailer, I will throw the dock line to the dock and tie it off. Often, that involves getting your feet wet to climb in the boat, but that's life. Better yet, ask someone else on the dock to hold the dock line as you back in. You can then offer to help them as they launch or load. 2) I'm also not a fan of power loading - even if it is allowed. Most people can't do that technique well and end up creating a huge hole at the end of the ramp which creates problems for everyone forever until the ramp is repaired. There is no reason to power load. Back your trailer in further and hand crank your boat up. Yes, again, your feet may get wet.

    • @chrishockleyoutdoors5419
      @chrishockleyoutdoors5419 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your input Dan. The rope trick works for me and has never failed. I’m glad your system works for you. I agree with your comment on power loading if it isn’t an official ramp that’s concrete. Every situation calls for some common sense but that’s a point I didn’t cover and appreciate the addition.

      I've never seen a launch like this here in Canada. It's not a bad regulation to protect shoreline. • @chrishockleyoutdoors5419

      I don't actually use a transom saver. The dealership that I get the boat through has suggested against it. The shock of being connected to the trailer is the reason given. TH Marine offering some really great gear for this purpose should you like to support it further.
